@Peter123, you likely don't have one for comparison, but the Pono has been my go-to DAP, think it sounds great, especially balanced. Any experience with it, comparison with the Opus#1?
You my friend need a Walnut, no screen![]()
Come on Mr. T, with all the good SQ hype I've been hearing on the Walnut I even had to go there for $27![]()
To tell the truth I'm still pretty jazzed about this $50 rig![]()
@peter123 I bet I am, you know I was hard on the Benjie at first but after reading some of you comments I decided to try some other iem's and sure enough it's a fine little player $1 less than the Walnut and it even has a track listing screen![]()
Just checked. I got 8.5" in my front yard overnight, she is still coming down

Always good to see some competition for the ChAPs (Chinese Audio Players - what'd you think, could it catch on?)
Won't be on my shopping list (I do hate touchscreens), but seems like another quality device.
Thanks, it's indeed a challenge to hang around here. Way too much good stuff.....
Thanks Tim! You're in for a treat![]()

I must ask: did you make multiple measurements from multiple areas, then average them?...![]()
I wasn't much a fan of touchscreen DAPs either, but Opus #1 did it really well. And it sounds great, too!
Only if you don't plan on using MULTI-BA IEM, lol. That said, of course I ordered a Walnut, myself![]()
I borrowed Pono recent and didn't groove on it, to be honest. I'd take Opus #1 or Shanling M5 instead. Just my personal preference...
Nope, but my back yard had more like 12" where there was no wind to blow the snow around![]()

How is that little oddball holding up anyways? I have a hard enough time keeping track of my music on a player with a screen…
Keep thinking bout grabbing one of those. The APTek version anyways, since its available on Amazon. It actually is worth the $40 CAD?
You don't want to go crazy nuts with your DAC, considering the Ocean is a budget amp. I pair mine up with a Hifimediy DAC like the 9018 or 9023. Sounds really good!Fellow brvo ocean user. Any recommendations to DACs to pair it with?

Also, make sure to experiment with tubes. Some tip rolling will yield different results. I'm currently using a remanufactred Mullard that I got on eBay for thirty bucks. Makes the amp sound warmer and more expensive without ditching the details.
Hope this helps
Surely it must be painful to insert those Mullard's![]()
