  OK - here's the review - http://www.head-fi.org/products/trinity-hyperion-dynamic-iem/reviews/12834

I'll be putting my money where my mouth is on this one.  As soon as Kickstarter campaign is underway, I'm ordering three (of the Hyperion).  Bob would probably give them to me - but I'm doing this because they are genuinely that good and I would feel guilty taking them as a gift.  I'm going to keep my evaluation sample for myself and for further comparisons.  it has now become my default budget IEM for others to measure against.

Sorry for the delay - these things take a while to write.

Trinity thread is here for discussions for anyone interested : http://www.head-fi.org/t/760277/introducing-trinity-audio-engineering

Coming from you, Paul, this means a lot!!!  I hope Trinity Audio guys realize that you just PUT them on the map!!!  I might have to check them out and maybe will get a chance to review it.

Funny thing is that although I love the Hyperion (and at this price why wouldn't you grab one - even if just for the gym, or as an everyday IEM), its still not my favourite Trinity.

Next review (almost complete) is the Delta. That's my favourite. Price on that one is RRP at  £90.00 (current exchange = ~ 135 USD). Kickstarter price should be  £60.00 (current exchange = ~ 90 USD).

Well i guess i may as well post my set of gear. I dont have much in terms of headphones since i only have one pair of IEM's and a semi dead pair of klipsch Image s4a2's (Build quality was awful, sold by klipsch through amazon so not fake either). I occasionally dabble in making music in my spare time.

My Yamaha EPH100 IEM's, I use a Logitech z5500 5.1 system on my PC, i play games so 5.1 is nice since im not a fan of wearing headphones.

Novation MiniNova synthesizer being powered by a usb battery bank because lights :p It can also be bus powered by my tablet which is below.

A Behringer FCA 202 that is not used due to a total lack of 64bit drivers grrr...

A Yamaha Piano synth, its a bit old originating from 1996 but sounds pretty neat in my opinion.

An Akai LPK 25 mini keyboard, just a little handy keyboard for when i need it. Also works with my Galaxy S2 via otg if i fancy working like that.

My computer screen setup with the tablet below also running Ableton Live. I use a Xonar DX soundcard with my computer since i use 5.1 speakers so i need more than 2 channel audio. The audio input on the xonar is pretty nice but due to my new graphics card setup is a little noisy. I am very tempted to get a Behringer UCA202 so i can plug audio in through that as well since i have used one before and it sounded pretty good, as well as being driverless and cheap.

All of this means i can pack the mininova up and put the tablet in its bag with a keyboard, mouse and usb hub and have a fully mobile usb powered set up, i can then charge the tablet from battery bank and have the tablet power the mininova while charging.

As I was reading and scrolling down your post, I was hoping to see FL Studio, not Ableton Live :)  I don't produce music anymore, makes no sense thanks to Pandora and Spotify giving away music for "free" and everybody streaming instead of buying from iTunes/Amazon :)  But before my headphone "review hobby", I used to produce like mad, everything in FL Studio using only VST instruments and effects (with Massive, Nexus, Sylenth1, and Spire being my favorite synths).

Do you produce for fun or professionally?

Hey guys, check this out, this is pretty cool. My wife sent this to me, and she doesn't even like Jimi.

What speakers are those? Does anyone know?

Phonak PFE 012 comes with the green filters (bass filters) which attenuates the mids and highs. From my experience, the best sound from the PFE 012 is with the grey filters (neutral filters) but it's harder to come by nowadays. Another option is to get the PFE 111 or PFE 112 which are the exact same thing but comes pre-installed with the grey filters (neutral filters). Here's the Amazon link to the PFE 111 going for $102.99 with free shipping: http://www.amazon.com/Aud%C3%A9o-Perfect-Fit-Earphones-White/dp/B004MA7MPU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1428020794&sr=8-1&keywords=phonak+pfe

Exactly! I also preferred the neutral filters most when I tried them. But I chose the 012 just because of it's price. You can always get in touch with the company to send you out some of the filters.

You got a lot of good suggestions from the tribal council, but I'm going to throw my two cents in...

Okay, so you like this chick?

Are you trying to impress her with bling?

Please tell me it's not your cousin...

Maybe it's your aunt? Coworker?

Any way, it doesn't matter, because what I'm about to tell you will get her a pair of IEMs of her choice, and possibly put up to six pairs in your pocket!

You ready for this my friend?

Okay, so, the IEM game is all about how much you're willing to spend.

You aren't talking about buying her a custom in ear, because that type of money needs to be reserved for when you buy her an engagement band. Something around $75 is a good figure right?

What do you do? Man oh man do I have am idea for you broseph!

I'm all about the savings. The less you spend on one in ear leaves money to be spent on others.

I'm the "extreme coupon-er" of audio gear. I like to go website to website and shop around for the best deals on good schiit.

Between two sellers right now, in my aliexpress cart I have...

kzedse
Kz es
Kz dt3
Kz ed8
Kz ed9
Kz se
Kz x6

All really decent, and all with good build and sound quality.

Total with shipping comes to 65 bucks for all of them!

Now, here's what you do. Get them all in and have her try out each one, then let her pick out her favorite (gives her choice), and now you just reorder the one she picked and boom, for the price you were willing to spend she has her pair and you have all the kz IEMs worth keeping!

Winning!

Or just go with the PFE 012...

So this is the list thus far of possible candidates:
- Piston 2.1 or 3.0
- SoundMagic E10 or E30
- Audeo Phonak PFE 012 without filter sets
- Ostry KC06a
- Titan 1
- Mystery new IEM as hinted by Brooko

List is looking good so far :)

RedJohn456, my post initially said kc06a. I meant kc06 though, so I edited my post.

I have both and I like the kc06a a bit more (a bit more bass), but they are very similar and they are both great. The kc06 costs less than the kc06a, so that's why I ultimately ended up recommending the kc06 for your friend.

Someone beat me to it, she's already married ;) But I like the cut of your jib, helping a bro out like that. This deserves a commendation by the council!

You sir have it down to a science! Albeit a dangerous science ;)  The KZ iems is actually a really good idea. My dad is still using the EDSE and it sounds bomb diggity. I def liked the EDSE way more than the ED3. I am going to giver her all the suggestions and see what catches her fancy.

Also @Hisoundfi  With the PFE012, to spare her having to change filters, are they enjoyable out of the box with the pre installed filters? I know Igor mentioned his take on it, but I wouldn't mind reading your thoughts on it.

I swear, if aliexpress wasn't such slow in terms of delivery I would totally go for that no joke. And they make awesome gifts too!

Found this cool japanese metal track that really shines on the havi. Again I don't know the lyrics as I don't understand japanese but I love the texture of the guitars in this track and the song layering is superb imo

I think the green filters are the ones I prefer the most honestly. With the green tips you get very impressive bass and some very smooth midrange and treble that is clear and very easy on the ears.

If you ever heard the Tenore it is similar in signature.
