One of the tricks when installing screen protector, either pet film or tempered glass, you gotta do it topless.  I'm not kidding.  They attract (by static) specks of dust within a feet or two distance, like a magnet.  When you hover over your phone in a t-shirt, trying to align that screen protector - whatever "invisible" specks you have on your cotton shirt can end up on your screen protector/display, messing it up.

Another suggestion, I also keep a few double-sided scotch tape loops handy next to me during installs.  Just take a piece of a scotch tape and make a loop with a sticky side on outside.  Make a few of them, and keep it next to you during the install.  It comes handy to lift the corner of the screen protector if you need to re-align it (without using your fingers which can leave fingerprints), and if you get a spec of dust on your phone/DAP display - you can quickly use this sticky loop to pick it up.

Of course, wash your hands good before install, and use alcohol swipes to clean the display before install (to get rid of fingerprints or any oily spots).

So does your wife put your screens on LOL. I have no problem with the tempered glass its the film I hate. Sometimes on my phones I go bare back. I feel like whats the point of being afraid of some scratches I bought the thing to use it not for its looks.

Always mix these up, bareback with my wife and protection with a phone, or the other way around

All my phones get tempered glass, all tablets regular film.  Btw, with X7 screen/glass sticking out, to me it only makes sense to use a film, tempered glass layered on top will not look as good.

Wax it, or ask your wife to install screen protector, unless she is the one with a chest hair
