Hi, i have a question regarding the DAC MODE when used with an PC:
Is it possible to connect the R3 to the PC via USB-C and then connect it via 2.5mm to an headphone amplifier with balanced inputs? (PC -> R3 -> balanced Headphone Amp)?

That would be a very cheap way to get a balanced & portable DAC

I cannot seem to get my R3 to play MQA. I go on tidal to albums or playlists that I know are MQA but it still just says flax when I play them.

The R3 will only play certain albums on Tidal in MQA. Not sure why, but most play FLAC. Hiby is supposed to be working with Tidal on that. Hilary Hahn's Bach album plays MQA on Tidal. So does Jeff Golblum's new album. That's all I know so far. Hope it helps.

I'm having trouble getting any sound difference when I've connected my R3 to my Fiio A5. Right now it's connected with the Hiby type-c to 3.5 coax and I hear no change at all. I also tried connecting with the Fiio CL-06 and I started hearing a high-pitch whine sound coming from one of the two ( I believe it was the amp); there's no such whine with the Hiby coax cable. Am I doing something wrong here? Is there a setting I'm missing?

you wont hear big sound difference with any amp...im certain R3 doesn't have true line-out and your just double amping with fiio A5

Waiting for the Hiby R3 to play Tidal MQA. Tidal sounds so good on the R3 with FLAC. Maybe the MQA is there but just not displayed.

No, you don't need to set any USB output mode to connect the R3 to the Mojo. Actually that is the USB INPUT mode.

Just connect an OTG cable to the R3 and the Mojo to that via regular USB cable and it will start playing through the Mojo regardless of other settings.

My R3 is having the album cover bug... Any fixes for it yet? I've tried embedding and changing the file format to no avail.

I haven't tried embed them info flac file but just file with same name as flac or just cover.jpg in same folder with flac works for me.
