Yes, the onboard amp is very disappointing. Get yourself the hs6 stack kit by fiio get the Cayin c5 amp. You will be in shock what the portable amp is capable of (700mw per channel on 32ohm)

Thanks for the tip, but since I hardly ever use the Fiio on the go, I´d rather get a desktop amp which I suppose should be more powerful than a portable one. Or am I wrong ?
Hi Kvud
As has been explained to you a lot already - this is the X5 thread, not the X5ii thread. The photos you showed earlier were clearly the X5ii. Also - not sure what your agenda is here? So far you've shown photos of the X5ii, commented that the Sony A17 is better, and that your 'modded' X3 sounds like the X5.
If that's the case:
The Sony A17 thread appears to be here
The X3 thread is here
Both of those threads seem to have more relevance to you that what you are posting here.
Not always true but usually, yes. Example the O2 I believe has the same power rating as the Cayin C5. If you're looking for an inexpensive amp to power those from a desktop, you may also want to look into the Bravo Ocean amp. Small footprint, good power for 120-600ohm phones.
I was having trouble with the scroll wheel of my X5 gen 1 recently and was seriously contemplating sending it in for service. I just installed the 2.51 beta firmware and the wheel is working much better now.
Same here. I was having a lot of overshoot and/or a bit of reversed scrolling. I thought my wheel might be on its way out, but the response seems perfect so far with 2.51. Great job, FiiO!
