The latest ipod touch measures better than some 'audiophile' grade players although it still has a rather high output impedance. However, I have been mightily impressed by the specs that the X3 possesses.

Actually, the 5G touch has less than 1 ohm output impedance, just to be fair.

You're right....it is the iPhone 5 that measures well with a slightly high output impedance, not the Touch 5G.

where you got the measures result. it is RMAA or AP ? we have tested the IPC by AP. but we can't got any official specification. and yes, depended on our test , not all the " audiophile " grade player beat the iPC, even iPhone.

of course, it is not includes X3, lol

RMAA and dScopeIII

where can I find the test result of dScopellI ?

For the X3 it had to be the RMAA (I would do the measuring myself with dScopeIII if I had the time but alas I have exams) which I found earlier in the thread. For other DAPs dScopeIII.

I agree with you that RMAA has more discrepancy and higher margins of error but regardless the X3 looks very impressive!

If that answers James' question, I, for one, am still in the dark - as to where I can find the dScopeIII test results.

Some impressions on X3 on headfonia

Fiio X3
All these high end players and instead I keep on thinking about the Fiio X3 after the festival was over. It’s a great little device that should be a very popular player in the lower price range that it’s playing at. It’s relatively small, about Fiio E07K/E17 size, and while the UI was a bit laggy when I tried it, I extremely enjoyed the sound out of it. It’s very close to the sound of the E07K which is the latest DAC from Fiio. Smooth dark tonality with a clean black background, good instrument separation and overall unoffensive treble and good bass. It doesn’t try too hard to sound impressive with technicalities, but it has just enough to tackle the majority of recordings out there. The result is an enjoyable clean laid back sound with a semi-dark tonality and good bass. While it doesn’t have the technicalities to challenge the AK100-120 and everything else that’s priced above its price, what’s important is that like the budget-minded E07K, I find Fiio’s tuning in the X3 to be extremely enjoyable just like its USB DACs.

when i get the x3 I plan on connecting it to my leckerton uha6s mkii through the coaxial output of the x3 and the coaxial input of the uha6s but does anyone know where i can get a short (few inches long or so) long coaxial cable so that i will be able to connect the 2 devices? Thanks so much!

so you are choosing to bypass the dac in the x3. Do you know for sure if the dac in leckerton is better than the dac in x3?

I do not know! The seller claims that it is the official distributor of FiiO in Hong Kong, and says that FiiO X3 from the plant will go to him this week. What do you think? I would also like to understand.

/shrug... I would assume it is because of their good feedback, but obviously feedback can be falsified. Seems like 11 people have taken the dive, but I'm not going to be one of them. I'd like the warranty/return policy of a US distributor.

It looks convincing. Was worries me is one of the auctions for the HM 901 for $20. Maybe it was a mistake, but it appears that at least one buyer got stiffed before it ended .

Well, I have long been buying on eBay, and I know that if the product does not come within 45 days, or not come to the wrong item mentioned by the seller, then you can file a complaint on eBay, with the return of funds expended.
