I see now. When I contacted them earlier about batteries, they just said to use their paypal acct. and said to get back to them with my address, etc.

I haven't checked in here in awhile.  I like FW3.34beta, particularly for the over-5800-file indexing capacity.  I like the sound quality.  I've added this FW to my collection, because I do go back and forth amongst various FWs (depending on which features I'm in the mood for) ...all the way back to the FW2.1 that came with this X3.  I like 2.1 for the simpler menu navigation and the uncropped cover art.  I frequently check out track information (mainly for bitrate) and that's been harder and harder to do for several firmwares now.  I never can master how long to press the top left button to get to the circular menu showing trash can, information, set as favorite, et cetera.

I haven't been on this page for about a week but it is the first time I have seen it without the X3 being there. It just makes me feel that it is going to get much less in the way of FW updates. I could be wrong though. I hope that original X3 users will still be able to get full support. Things such as battery replacements if we need them. Would I still be able to get a replacement in a years time if the X3 hasn't been made for that long?

I UNDERSTAND I purchased a DAP for $200.  Not over $1k.  It seems recently you are negative on anything and everything Fiio does.  That does not make them lack customer service. 
 
When I buy modern electronics for sub$200, I don't expect EVERYTHING.  I don't expect permanent support.  
 
Fiio has a business to run.  If they do not release new & better, they die.  I am quite shocked they updated to 3.34b so late in the X3 cycle.  Are you not?  Most electronic manufacturers do not give personal updates on threads such as this, nor do they care about a product purchased almost 2 years earlier.  One cannot have a Porsche for Volkswagen money. It's basic economics.
