hi, i have a question regarding the UI - is it likely that the X5 UI will be ported to the X3 at some point in the future

d

A long time ago, James said it was a possibility.

That was before any real work began on the X5 so I am not sure if it is still possible

More important than a "Rat Dog" theme, would be the ability to create our own themes. :D

Already made my own theme... Basicly just a variation on the stock 'black' theme, but mine is a little more black :)
You can get it here: http://gruffalo.mooo.com/web/fiio/X3_FW2.1-modified-Coop.zip if you want...

Can you post some pics of your theme? Thanks

Well... It is pretty much the same as the regular dark/black theme, text & icons are the same, but with completely black backgrounds... Oh and the format confirmation selection & battery charging icon have been made "Fiio red".

Here's some quick & dirty cellphone pics:

Quite boring isn't it? :)
Feel free to use it as a base for your own theme.

Actually I like your simple tweak. I've always wonder why Fiio doesn't provide a solid black background. Nice case btw

why not use iTunes to rip to MP3 or AAC directly?

dBpowerAMP also works for converting to anything you'd like(i use this) and Exact Audio Copy works fantastic for ripping to Wave.

what headphones do you use?

Mainly because itunes has junk mp3 ripper. Real good aac/alac ripper though if that is your taste.

Are you saying the quality (SQ) of the FLACs are different depending on the ripper? Or, are you simply talking about accuracy of the tag info?

Got mine today. I purchased the open box version from Amazon that saves me $20. When I open the package, I have to say it's worth the saving. Everything inside the retail packaging looks pretty much new, the player itself even has a un-peeled screen protector on it. It also comes with the FW 2.1 which I believe is the latest version. The 64gb sandisk calss 10 card works as well. Haven't listened to it too much. What I DONT like is the FW, it doesn't support playlist and after I sorting music by Artist, that's it, it doesn't let me choose which Album with Artist, which I can not stand. Hopefully Fiio can fix the above issue. Also, is there a thread that we can post the "BUG" of Fiio X3?
