Was looking for something smidge better than the E-9 that would amplify and utilize better DAC. Seems iPad2 USB not very good for this purpose

Cypher Labs Algorythym Solo (CLAS) or Fostex HP-P1.  The Solo will also need an amp.

Scrolling through lists, instant changing between menus etc..... I don't think e-ink would be a good idea.

no I dont think so, but really 75ohm is meaningless for an interconnect this size. if  the cable, connectors and termination resistors are 50r then it makes no difference if its 75r or 50r. the 75ohm connector is just to match the 75 ohm cable and solderless bnc (not rca) for external interconnects of a certain size/type.  50r termination is the standard that is used for i2s and spdif internally anyway. if all components comply to the same impedance then its correct. of course most gear will claim to have 75r connections, but the vast majority are not even close

I'm hoping they use real glass this time and not the plastic "glass" they are using on the E7.  That thing is a scratch magnet!!!!!!

Either way I would use some zagg shield so it doesn't matter to me.  Glass cracks too.
