This is my Fiio E12DIY. After upgrading the opamp to Muses01, I couldn't close the chassis because of its hight. So, instead of grinding the inside of the lid, I decided to cut it using a rotary tool and glue a piece of plexiglass on top so all the components could be visible. Making the plexiglass angles was a complete pain in the @$$ cause I made it manually using a scraper. It took me almost four hours to get the plexiglass angles perfectly aligned with the E12DIY chassis.

Pretty good, I made a bass port on the top half of the cups though. There used to be a small one up there but I blocked it off. They're pretty close to neutral sounding now, there might be a small bump in bass though.

So this started out as a simple Takstar HI 2050...

But then..

I gutted the inside of the cups a bit to make the headphones more open

Installed Audio Technica AD2000 drivers into the stock baffles

Dual entry AD2000 cable

T5p strain reliefs

The silver rings that go around the grills are waiting on paint. We're undecided on the color they should be. I vote matte black.

The sound is awesome. As a total, the parts came to about $250 and I'm sure it would rival the AD2000 in sound quality even while they're $799 on Amazon.
