I really hope M500 have ear cups. Anyway, not really like on-ear design. Why KEF didn't make over-ears!

Nope, they are as on ear as you can get. They are super compact and portable though, and fold up nicely (even had an included hard carry case).

Portability was what they were obviously going for. My guess is the iPhone crowd was the intended audience, which would explain the Apple style aluminum construction and white color option (as well as the iOS compatible control cable).

I agree that they should have made a set of over ears, especially if they could have tuned them as good as the M500.

IMO the M500 MSRP pricing was a little high, but they are well worth $65. Who knows what MSRP KEF would have tried to price over ear headphones at (should they have ever made a pair).

For anyone who got in on the Newegg Kef M500..or any other Newegg deal in the last month. It seems their transactions were hacked and credit card information skimmed. I used Masterpass...not sure if that helped, but keep an eye on this story...sounds like you should contact your bank.

For the poster who asked, I will post my impressions of the Audiofly DF240 after it arrives on Friday.

V-Moda Crossfade M100 headphones are $150 again @Amazon. (Boompro mic is also on sale for $20)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A39PPDK

I have used a boom pro for years. It’s the best mic hands down. So clear and it’s convenient as heck. $20 is a great price.

There are lots of generic knockoffs of the BoomPro now on sites like Aliexpress and eBay. I bought a knockoff for half the price thinking it would be as good. It LOOKS exactly the same, but the mic capsule is crap as far as sound quality (or maybe some sort of noice canceling voodoo circuitry makes the genuine sound so good). Anyways, I ended up tossing it and buying another genuine.

Philips Fidelio X2HR $159 from Joybuy

https://www.joybuy.com/600008751.html

With a review like this how can I resist?

"As long as there's a little failure in the middle, but I think it's going to be normal. excellent headphones. The ambulance is filmed, the remnants of glue are not in the early parties, all quality."

Is it easy to mod these to unfilm the ambulance and even out the glue between the early and late parties? Asking for a friend.

In all seriousness, I may end up buying these out of pure nostalgia. For a while, they were my go-to headphones.

The X2, or the X2HR?

The X2. My understanding was that the X2HR was sonically identical. Are they actually different?
