For example, the highest rate previously available for
Barb Jungr's Many Rivers to Cross was 44.1kHz.

Personally, I don't like the idea of upsampling - especially not for taking 44.1 or 88.2 kHz to either 96 or 192. Those are square pegs going into round holes. Taking 48 kHz to 96 or 192 isn't so bad.
I doubt anyone (including me) can hear any artifacts of non-arithmetic interpolation, but the thought of doing this bugs me, just the same.
