Massdrop K7XX Serial# 184 are in the house and burning in.  Listened to them a little and just about as expected.  Nice soundstage.  Nice mid-bass. A little lean.  We'll see what burn-in does.

Looking forward to seeing how they sound with NOS DAC and also tube amp.  So many options.

Same, here, Chinook.

Note that they have upsampled several tracks to the rates made available today.

For example, the highest rate previously available for Barb Jungr's Many Rivers to Cross was 44.1kHz.

Today, you can download the entire collection in any of these formats:

Personally, I don't like the idea of upsampling - especially not for taking 44.1 or 88.2 kHz to either 96 or 192.  Those are square pegs going into round holes.  Taking 48 kHz to 96 or 192 isn't so bad.

I doubt anyone (including me) can hear any artifacts of non-arithmetic interpolation, but the thought of doing this bugs me, just the same.

Here's a list of all the tracks that were previously not available at 96 or 192 kHz (and their original highest available rates):

01 - Joe Stilgoe - Almost Like Being in Love (48)
05 - Barb Junger - Many Rivers to Cross (44.1)
09 - Maeve O'Boyle - Old Greenwich Time (88.2)
13 - Ian Shaw & Liane Carroll - Forty-two (88.2)
17 - Gareth Williams Power Trio - Giant Steps (44.1)
18 - Carol Kidd & Nigel Clark - The End Of A Love Affair (88.2)
19 - Judith Owen feat. Richard Thompson - Nicholas Drake (44.1)
21 - Emily Barker & The Red Clay Halo - Pause (88.2)
23 - Pavlo Beznosiuk - Toccata and Fugue in A minor after Bach BWV 565 (88.2)

Awesome, thanks! I missed most of the tracks, and I was able to download the whole set (2.3 GB for the 24/96) in about 25 minutes over airport wi-fi. Didn't think airport wi-fi could be that fast but I was just proven wrong.

Your airport wifi is most likely WAY faster than your ISPs internet connection. It's your ISPs internet connection that likely is your bottleneck.
