Agiprodj.com has them for $799.99 with free shipping if you become a "member" of the site (sign in, get a password, receive email, like most sites these days...), trying to keep from hitting the "buy" button!

Is this a reputable site?

Seems like everyone interested in the SE846 missed the HeadRoom deal for $799.99 few days ago.

Not sure if it's a good deal, but this is the lowest I've seen for these.
NeweggFlash (sold by WORLD WIDE STEREO) has a Sennheiser HD7 for $199.99.

Hmmm I always wondered, how come alot of us on here mostly go for the open back headphones instead of the closed back headphones?

Even though I have an M50 and does pretty well for most EDM, is there anything better out there that is closed back yet give you the best sound for that type of music or bass/mid centric music?

Im not sure if Im making myself understand since, well, Im not much of a closed back headphone person (I can never hear myself with them lol)

Having done the impression/ciem bit, I can say it is bit of a pain. I got a set about a month ago, and think I'll need to send them back for some adjusting, left ear not quite perfect. And, if you don't like deep insert headphones (think Etymotic, many can't stand how they feel, though I like them), then figure, these will go in MUCH further! Takes some getting used to, just starting to get there. But, the way the sound envelopes you is the pay off, closest you'll get to full size cans inside your canals.
Having said that, the Shures sure are tempting :D

I think Acs does custom sleeves for the 846 too! So once you get your fit sorted out with them... :)

I will second the refit part.  I briefly looked into custom IEM, but decided against them when an audiologist told me human ear canal doesn't stay static...it changes with age just like the rest of the human body and sometimes he had to redo impressions every 1-2 years for people.  Eff that...

the ear canal saggggssss too...? sigh. :p

Interesting deal,

DT770 Pro 250Ohm + Tascam DR-22WL Stereo audio recorder - 204.99 after mail in rebate.

To get both on Amazon right now would be $360. The recorder retails for $150, you could probably get the deal and ebay the recorder as unopened, retailer sealed for at least $100 and score a really nice deal on new DT770's.

You guys ever see deals on dt880/600?

I got a new pair of 880 premium 600ohm shipped and sold by Amazon on 1/30/14 for $219.99. Probably saw it because of this thread. I bought them with hopes they would be as good to my ear as my Sent HD700s were, but they were instantly noticeably inferior imo. Mine got a couple hours use before being ebayed.

I was asking how common dt880/600 deals are, because I am looking for a deal:) Massdrop has the dt990 right now, but I want that dt880/600....

Somewhere there is a post "rating 53 Top Closed Headphones" on this site.

I got mine on Amazon warehouse (open box deal), for around the pricekayza mentioned. I recommend you get them from a place that has a good return policy rather than somewhere at the absolute lowest price, I found the DT880 to be quite detailed, comfy, handsome, with great imaging and solid bass to the sound character, but I found certain parts of the treble range to just edge over the point of unforgiving sharpness even with my best amp (and my less than best tube to try blunting the treble spike a bit) and the mids—upper-mids seemed hollow and tin-like. I listened to the DT880 600 ohm exclusively for 27 days because I wanted to like them, but I was glad to return them after comparing to my k712 on the 28th day. I know that others LOVE the DT880, and it does many things well, so just make sure you have an option if you end up with your eardrums hurting.

Oh oh sorry...that's what I get for multitasking LOL Beyer deals seem to be in line with Sennheiser...biggest discounts during holidays.  I got my DT990/600 for ~$170 on Amazon few years back.  DT880/600 I think  come down to around $210-230.  But I do not look out for Beyer deals as much anymore, so I might be dead wrong.

Looks like you can get them new on BuySonic for $269.99, or you can get them used in very good condition from 3rd party for $235.

According to the Amazon price history, they've only dropped below $240 4 times (in new condition, I mean), and that used pair looks to be in really great shape. If you're comfortable buying used, that's the way I'd go.

Or you could wait 6 months trying to save $5 or $10 more bucks.
