Another reason why I am specifically looking for local is because of the CAD being absolute crap. Even buysonic deals at $999 comes out to $1183 CAD. On top of that there's tax and customs, so it's just easier and probably overall cheaper to get it from Canada.

A bit OT, but rumor mill is Senn will be releasing a new flagship soon. So maybe prices will sneak down as/when that happens. 

This topic has been beaten with a stick in the HD 800 thread. If you go back to January 2014 in the posts, the same rumors popped up then too, and probably 2013 as well. If there is a new Sennheiser flagship announced, you'll know because the head-fi.org servers will crash.

It sounds RIDICULOUSLY good!  I've bought a couple of UE Boom's for my teenage son that I thought were pretty good, but for this kind of money...it's A LOT of sound and quality (heavy little sucker and the feel of materials is really nice for the price point).  Just thought I'd share in case someone is looking for one.  $99 with Amazon Prime today which is extermely reasonable IMO but if it hits $59.99 again (+ tax so I paid $64.99)....JUMP!  I've got the UE Boom, a Creative unit and the Sonos Play 3 here for reference.  Super easy setup on my iPhone 5s...quickest I've experienced and I have a lot of BT devices.  Supposedly 6 hours on the battery which charged surprisingly quickly (I've yet to test the reputed 6 hours BTW).

I got this on the Deal of Day and you are right: For a (relatively) small BT speaker, this thing indeed rocks! The sound quality (again, relatively speaking) is quite good.

While everyone else was in the conference room with Chief Headphone Designer Axel Grel, *I* was in Dr. Grel's files.  I found the folder labeled "SECRIT NEW HEADPHONE" and I opened it up to behold...

Heaven forbid Apple should acquire Sennheiser and merge (consolidate and streamline as they like to sugarcoat it) Sennheiser with Beats. (Fortunately, Sennheiser is privately owned to this day, so there is a snowball's chance in Death Valley of this even happening. But you never know... NOT!) You can bet every Head-Fi'er would be out for blood with their pitchforks and torches. This image is craziness gone wrong!

And as for the RS220, will it be getting a refresh soon so it really offer sound quality comparable to the HD600? The current model isn't even as good as the HD558, let alone the HD600 or HD650. I still remember this claim that Sennheiser made and failed to deliver on:
