Hey guys i have the 250, can I still be part of the party?

Yes, and in return you can join the campaign to have "600 ohm" edited out of the title. It's ongoing and long-running, but we're still hopeful.

It happened!!! No more "600 ohm" in the thread title!

Today is a day to celebrate my friends. Everyone grab a beverage of your choice, put on your 880s, and sit back and enjoy this brave new world! :)

"What amp should I buy for the DT880?"

"Well....what ohm are you?"

I actually liked this being the 600 ohm thread. I subscribed as soon as I thought about buying a pair. And I enjoy continuing reading even after I'm not a huge fan. On the other hand, I have no interest in reading about the 250 ohm version. Oh well.

I'm guessing that this thread will now do what this thread http://www.head-fi.org/t/513393/guide-sonic-differences-between-dt770-dt990-models-more already did quite well.

Fair enough but I don't see why. That thread is for all three headphones and their variants (770/880/990, 32/80/250/600ohm). This thread is specifically for the 880. I see little to no posts to this thread that would only apply to the 600 ohm version. The idea that it is different than other 880s, aside from its efficiency, is largely a myth.

I bought a pair of DT-880's when my K240s fell apart. I listened to them for 15 years and miss them.

Do you guys listen across the room? Do you have a remote control for your source? I've almost always used my headphones at the desk and maybe only once or twice been happy with the length of a 10' stock cable.

At times, it'll be good to
move across the room. I like the long cable since I just use it at home.

I personally love the long cable. It's long enough to reach from my receiver to my bed so I can lay down and watch shows without my speakers at night.

Well this rather puts a damper on the eveving. Now that the 600ohm thread is gone, I guess I'll put my hip waders on and go fishing. I have looked forward to reading all of everones posts every single day. Thank you all for your input, it has been very valuable.

Sorry if this sounds as if someone just died, but I've seen this type of thing happen so many times in different forums. It usually dwiddles and wanes until everyone is gone and then it's just plain sad. So I just want to say while everyone is still here how valuable your input has been.
Again Thanks

Don't be such a drama queen, it doesn't mean anything other than the words '600 ohm' being removed from the title of this thread. Everyone posted about there 80/250s anyway. People simply need to continue mentioning which model they own when joining the discussion.

There's no reason this thread will see less activity just because a couple words were removed from the title. There is, however, a decent chance it will have more activity because many times people have mentioned wanting to be part of a 880 appreciation thread but that they felt like they couldn't because they had the 32- or 250-Premiums or the 250-Pro.

LOL!
Actually, the efficiency is virtually the same!
It's the sensitivity that differs!

But I agree, there seems to be so much similarity in sound!

BTW, I flagged the moderators to change the thread name.

Don't worry.
You can still post on the DT880 thread!  LOL
