Thanks for the reply! Looks like the German maestros could be denser than the beyerdynamic ones, but very hard to say from the photos. The foam looks too thick though, like the Beyer foam. I tried an extra layer of Beyer foam once on my old 880 Pro, because someone on the internet was saying great things about that, but everything becomes a bit too grainy or muffled then, plus your ears touch the foam all the time, so meh..
Yea I was looking at brainwavz pads myself but decided not to go for those since they all seem oval, and I don't wanna stretch them out for an hour trying to get them on (like i did once on a hifiman). But if they're so isolating I do believe they will be too boomy indeed. The Annie pads have a bit of ventilation at the back it seems (I think also the hole is a tiny bit bigger than the stock pads'), and even with these Annie pads the bass is already getting a little thick/boomy for me, it's still okay but I wouldn't want any more bass than this.
Was also thinking of trying 770 pads, but read somewhere on this forum they don't have holes either and make the sound muddy, so those will probably be worse than the Annies too.
