Haha ya I thought that it was silly when I saw it too. He still has good information regardless, though.

My understanding is that photographers hate Ken Rockwell's site.

I'm no expert photographer, but I must admit I've seen far better photography sites than Rockwell's.

Ken's a weird guy.
He has compared audiophiles to pedophiles.
No, that's not a joke and I am not amused.

He compared what?

E10 is just bass boost, E7 and E17 has the adjustable EQ.

I was referring to this :
vali and modi aren't swappable.

I make detachable cables for my headphones.....interesting note.  I have the Beyerdynamic DT880 600 ohm, DT990 600 ohm, and T1 600 ohm.  Had the T90 and traded for an HD700, sold the HD700 to fund the T1.  I listened to the T1 for three weeks with the stock cable, best stock cable of the bunch.  I Modded my T1 just like the other Beyers, amphenol mini XLR plugs with 6" sleeved wire into the cups.  I have some nice DIY high end wires that I made into detachable cables for all of my headphones.  No to waste material, I cut down the T1 cable to 6 feet, only to find some nice copper, 24awg.  I added the mini XLR's......listening on the DT880' s now, and I honestly can't understand why Beyerdynamics messes around with the cheap single entry wire.  The T1 cable modded to the DT880 is just unbelievable fantastic.....better bass, deeper and tight, much bigger soundstage, and wonderful mids, same treble as before, maybe a little more smooth.  What a surprise!  All in all I have a total of 10 cables set up this way, with boutique wire, many would be surprised of the results, IMO.  The T1 cable is definitely the best Beyerdynamic cable!  The T1 cable will be in the cable rotation

The T1 cable sounds like the Moon Audio Black Dragon....it is that good.  Good quality, mids and low end maybe has a heavier note, better tone than the stock DT880 cable, but really no comparison.  Of course most that don't believe cables make a difference may be missing out!

@cute: would you please post a pic of Dt880/600 and T1 cable? I got my dt880 recently, but recable for it just so risky, and I have no required skill to do it. One more thing have to mention is Moon Audio cable is freaking expensive, it costs as much as price that I paid for dt880/600 itself $220

@Mshenay: as I know, your dt880 was recabled, and it looks absolutely gorgeous(I'm kinda jealous)>>> no need for new cable bro ^^

Oh my DT 880 is fine but my poor W1000x is still running stock :[ hopefully some time this month she'll get a nice new reCable!

And thank you for the compliment, ZOmbie X [where ever he is these days] did the work. An I got them second hand from the orignal owner

...just me or is this headphone just really ugly compared to the DT990 and DT770?

I mean the grills on the DT990 are sexy as hell, and the DT770 just looks like a nice standard headphone.

I'll probably eventually buy the DT880 250 Ohm Pro to complete my collection.
