Last Thursday :p (not actually). Not like the Steve'n'Seagulls aren't a bunch of talented guys too because they totally are, but still. Even if classically trained though, the 2Cellos guys are playing it in a way never once thought possible. As Sir Elton John has once said (and I'm paraphrasing here) when interviewed about them, "it's not a thing, cello players don't rock out. But these guys do". Dare I say it, but their rendition of Mombasa by Hans Zimmer live at Arena di Verona evokes as much intensity as the original version did with an entire orchestra. 3 guys! Because lest we forget, the drummer they're touring with is totally nailing it.

I don't think any of the guys in Steve'n'Seagulls are trained as classical musicians, but at least few of them have a degree in music. The drummer has even university one (although finally specialising in music pedagogy). However, they are not fake in a sense that all of them seem to be from Finnish countryside.

Speaking of cellos. Here is Apocalyptica (Finnish as well of course) that began already in 93 doing metallica. I think they did it just for the love of metal.

Sorry for the bad quality..

Oh now that's just a low blow Karendar:open_mouth: LOL With what you have gone through they are lucky you were this nice:wink:

Well, it's not their fault really... I asked for USPS instead of Fedex, because they're usually nicer on duties and border fees. Problem is, considering they're in Washington, thus closer to the Richmond border hub, that's where it heads out first. Which isn't a bad thing, because border services in Montreal are jerks on duties and taxes! hahaha

@poro1 I got a pop that said that video is not allowed by my country, must be some really good stuff:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Something about UMG material and copyright grounds!

Started in Washington? You should've just had them send it to me instead. Wouldn't have taken that long for me to receive them :p

All these YouTube clips have been great, some fantastic musicians. I'll be making a few purchases after seeing these tonight. It's been a win win situation for me, didn't have to watch coronation street because me and my boys were watching all the videos and playing our guitars. Even the Icarus IIIs got taken out of the box, that's hard to do when you've had the Andromedas for only about a month. This thread just keeps giving, great stuff and long may it continue

Damn, must be reserved only for us Finns. In fact it seem to be difficult to find good recordings from Apocalypticas early years from youtube.
One more try:

If that did not work, then here is some Cash for comfort. I suppose this only gets better when you grow older.
