Echo the comments on the U4 - very nice monitor in the mid-fi price bracket.

Given your preference for a warm sig with hints of detail, you might want to add the oBravo Cupid to your research list. It has pretty spectacular bass response (not too bassy, but great sub bass reach and bags of texture and speed) and a planar driver running in tandem for the mids and highs. Gives it a really rich, organic tone with plenty of technical ability in the background of the sound.

They have a slightly funny mmcx connector, but if you go with the upgrade package, you get a very nice 2.5mm balanced cable chucked in as well.

It's got a slightly different timbre/sound to my other gear, but it is VERY addictive once you get used to it. Very strong entry in the under $500 space imho.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out.

Perhaps a controversial personal view of the Topping DX3 DAC/Amp that I posted today on the relevant thread. (It has dual AK4493 DAC chips)

Facilitation Alert to @jerick70 and @HungryPanda

This looks really interesting. I love my Sabaj D5. I fixed my Cayin iDAC-6 MKII with a USB board change and it is my main stay right now though. It's more refined and smooth. Plus it has the tube stage that I can switch to for that smoother more romantic feel.

Sorry I've been on a hiatus for a few weeks. Life got interesting with my job. Needless to say it's a blip in my life that I won't forget. I'm currently looking for other employment.... Just received a call from another employer locally and the job looks interesting.

How's everyone? I haven't had time to go through the pages I missed yet..... Hope everyone is doing better than I am right now.

So a little upgrade I made to my setup is the HA-1A MKII. I sold my MKI to get this baby. Big upgrade from the MKI. I'm becoming a Cayin fanboi I think, 3 out of 4 of my daily driver kit is Cayin, lol.

Is the small person in the window, the musician who plays the music for you?

Damn, sorry to hear about work. I just got through a real tough patch, things are looking slightly better for now. Hopefully, something will come your way fast. Sending some positives thoughts your way. At least you have some free time to listen to some more tunes...lol.
