Here's a little poll. I'm having second thoughts about keeping the iDAC-6 because of the problems I've had with it. I'm seriously considering the Burson Conductor 3, except I'm concerned I won't like it because it doesn't have blanaced inputs and output.

So what would you do?

1) would you keep the iDRAC6?
2) would you return the iDAC6 and get the conductor 3?
3) would you look at another DAC or DAC/AMP combo?

Thanks for your help!
.
I reckon that you should send back your IDAC6 and hold off until your Sabaj D5 arrives and then assess your situation.

But something tells me - that is not going to happen.................:)

It's not often I hear a track that stops me in my tracks that I have never heard from way back... This did it.
never heard it before even though I'm a fan of Brian Ferry and roxy music although I haven't really explored them... I am now.
I honestly think this is fantastic, reminds me of radiohead, the doors, and jimi hendrix in ways... Anyway enjoy

I'd return the iDAC6 for an exchange and see if you had a faulty unit, then move on to your options above if it turns out not to be faulty.

What he said.

I go back and forth. It really depends on your headphones. For desktop I prefer separates. You get so much more performance with a separate DAC and headphone amp.
I'm not discerning enough on a day-to-day basis. The AI-301DA still has a pretty good headphone amp section though to my ears so I don't mind it at all. And it keeps me from spending more than I have to on audio (ya know, beyond how I already spend too much on audio) :D
