I'd be surprised if it doesn't exceed the sound quality of HD600. Some folks have compared it to much much more expensive headphones. Bear in mind that it is obviously comparing apples to oranges, and it also depends on whether you can stand wearing either styles for long. I can't use headphones for long, for example

There are people preferring HD600 over planars. Even dynamic driver, planars, and electrostats are like apple, oranges, and grapes

The Desolation Sound is truly remarkable, it is by far the most detailed earbud I have ever heard. It is more holographic than the Sunniva with better instrument separation. Soundstage is very wide and open (wider than the Sunniva). The layering was remarkable with the Sunniva but these are even better. It is very easy to pinpoint where things are coming from, I have been playing Starfield recently and I find these comparable to full sized headphones.
With all these improvements it would be easy to conclude that the Sunnivas have been beat but I disagree.
The Sunniva while not as open and holographic (still very 3D), notes just have more weight and substance. Not to mention the midbass is far better on these than the DS. The DS also has more intimate vocals vs the Sunniva and I much prefer the latter. The Sunniva is also a bit warmer than the DS. DS is almost perfectly neutral while the Sunniva is definitely a warm set. With all the positives of the DS, you’d think it would be a good all rounder but the lack of bass really hurts when listening to any bass heavy genres.
All things considered, I found the Sunniva to be best with the stock tuning. It could have used some more subbass but it is by far the best all-round set. The DS has improved on a lot over the flagship and this has me really excited for future sets. **cough** bassy set **cough**

My Serratus Black Sand arrived today and I must say that they have exceeded my expectations in all respects! They could well be the endgame phone in my collection.

I've ordered the Red Serratus. I'm looking forward to trying these buds out. :L3000:

Thanks @tgx78 for being super responsive and helpful.

I can't help wonder if I should have ordered the Black Sand instead....

Anyone with a desktop amp, a taste for a warm-dry tonality with great staging and good timbre, this is a great buy. I have been trying to convince Jim to start making this one again but also appreciate it's tonality is not for everyone, that and I don't want to get in the way of his creative progress.
Warm and dry eh? Btw, where can i learn how to do review like yours based on the sound signature chart like how you, Woody, oogenesisoo did? I think the chart looks quite cool
