if anyone is interested in this i just tested v3 charging and it charges with 4.95v and 1amp at 5.2w and this is the fastest that can go
Tempotec couldn't even made it to take 2amp atleast phatetic in 2023
Thanks. The internal photo shows AXP2101 IC and in accordance datasheet it has 100mA-1A internal linear battery charger. So it's normal for this IC. Bad choice though. Probably it was cheaper that something like AXP202 with 1.8A max current (HiBy R3Pro has AXP202 https://www.head-fi.org/threads/hiby-r3-pro-portable-bluetooth-dap.916299/post-17418187 ). Or even AXP228 like Cayin N3Pro has (USB3.0-compatible flash chargerup to 2.2A charge current).

yep they've ruined what could've been a great DAP and i would have no issues paying 400-500 Euro if everything was working as it should it had EQ preamp and PEQ you know all basic features and it was litte more powerfull but it is what it is still better to me then even 1000 euro Android dap
I've played a bit more with it this evening and i have to say I'm quite impressed with the sound quality. I've compared it to my Topping DX3 pro+ using an a/b input switcher and they were almost indistinguishable. I have to say that the v3 even has slight edge in terms of soundstage over the Topping.
On the other hand I'm a bit disappointed with some of the music files not showing up in their folders. But I'm hoping this will be fixed .
For 150£ i think it will be great device once the major bugs are fixed .
Corrected measurements have appeared. There are only 205 mW at 32 Om on the balance in High Gain mode! Tempotrek are just liars
There is a sharp current cutoff. Optimal headphones on a single from 32 Om, on a balance from 50 Om.
Tip :
If anyone wants a good and cheap case for their Tempotec V3, the Gameboy Advance SP case ( it has to be the SP version) is a pretty good fit.
Ebay has them for around 5-8$.
215 mWrms -> ~304 mWpk
304(pk) x 2ch = 608 mWpk
So in a technical sense, their specs aren't complete lies. Just not abiding by conventional standards of presentation (measurements in RMS, for single channel)
Is it bad? Tempotec claims V3 is almost the same as V6, which was well received. But I don't know if V6 sounds exactly like the March III. So, who can compare them?
For 150USD was not bad deal the V3. But after all problems and lies, it was only hyped by the own brand. It was very good to be true hahaha
What is true, it that the sound is really good, but also I've never tried R3ii or AP80 Pro X to compare :b
