I miss my R2R2k so much. I'm dying to know how M5 reacts to the FW changes, do you hear it? Do you like the M5 more than Z1R? Currently, I only like the Z1R paired with WM1A.

Well, in this pre-release environment, let me just chime in with saying a big thank you so far for your efforts Mr.Walkman! That DMP-1Z fw. on my 1Z (in reg.MX3) is making so much "magic" happening, I really don't know where to begin. I thought I knew Paul McCartneys "RAM" inside out and then not! Everyday brings new pleasant surprises! So thank you for being here Mr.Walkman

I miss my R2R2k so much. I'm dying to know how M5 reacts to the FW changes, do you hear it? Do you like the M5 more than Z1R? Currently, I only like the Z1R paired with WM1A.

M5 is more balance, 3D and neutral while z1r has a better sub-bass, vocal analog and sparkle treb. I love both of them. So i think WM1A not enough power to drive Z1r. I pair my M5 with WM1A and R2R2000 with my Z1r. I recognize the sounds changes on all off fw, 17-6 is more analog but bass is too much and the soundstage is also narrow. I prefer the fw 3-12, it's more balance, relax and also has a better battery life. My impression with WM1A Kmod ultimate and R2R2000 black Romi mod. Best regards.

So true about the lost information retrieval with the MK1 and 1Z. These songs we think we know yet they seem new?

MK1 must be closest to the actual DMP 1Z firmware in it's purest form and any follow up can only have more "tweaks" to it?

That’s what I thought too. I was listening to MK1 for a long time. Way before it was released even. And then MK2 happened and changed it up so significantly that MK1 pales in comparison. I’m not hyping it or being over enthusiastic over it as suggested by some people. I just tell it like it is. MK2 is the end game. This is it. Wait for it! I’ve been listening to it for the past 3 weeks or longer now. Long enough to give a decent take on it.

If there’s yet another firmware that can improve MK2, I’m all for it. Anything can happen. If we never reach true end game, where it’s at now is pretty dang good. It’s just as good as the real DMP-Z1. Saves a lot of money in the end.

MK1/MK2 ... WM1A/WM1Z ... I’m just glad the crew is back! Lol .... I was wondering why the motion was so slow on NP Audio and then I decided to come back here and check and had to read 65 pages in a day! Lol I knew all of you hadn’t just sailed off into the sunset!

Still loving the MK1.MK2 gets here when it gets here! But music is fun and the boys are back again! All is good in the world!

For my MK1 wasent good in my setup i gave extensive feedback on it and how i did not like it still in love with 3.00 DSEEHX and Jpeg support just the best one and still gratefull for it

I was never able to use 3.00 as it constantly crashed my 1Z as the only Sony fw ever to do that
