Are you using the wm1z sound signature, J3 region, plus v2 and dac initialization on normal mode?

I went back to Walkman One FW and don’t see J3 in it. Which FW has J3 and where can I download it? Want to try and see how it sounds

Hmm. The golden question. And my preferred signature. I assume you’re using a 1A. After having tested probably hundreds of software test versions and fine tuning etc, the current Walkman one has a signature for everyone from bright sounding to warm sounding. I use the wm1z sound sig with region J3, DAC mode on normal, plus mode v2. This gives me the warmest, fullest yet detailed enough sound. I haven’t budged from this setting in months.

J was always the favorite of most people as it had a smooth, relaxed and warm signature. However J3 is better while still maintaining that fullness and warmth, it adds a dimension of space and resolution as well. Not a night and day difference but noticeable. J3 has great crazy synergy with 7 Hertz Timeless, great textured bass, great depth,extremely holographic, great great dynamics and even better separation. Wow, I’m falling in love with listening again. This is on high gain, PMV 2. Performance is probably comparable to Fir Neon 4, which is a great feat

He’s perfectly fine. I’m in touch with him. He’s been busy since he shifted back to his home country of Romania and a new job etc.

New firmware will come when it’s ready to be released. But the existing one is ample enough for everything that it does. Just maybe some small tweaks on new gain settings etc to come. Stay tuned!

I'm mostly lurking atm, but still enjoying the software mods, really amazing. Can't really think I will ever want to sell my wm1a, it's so bloody good with the modded firmware. Awaiting new updates, it's like xmas presents, exciting

I use his firmware everyday to test IEMs. I also have the TA desktop that I use as a reference which offers a slightly different sound than the 1A/1Z differences. I also use the Shanling UA3 Dongle which is another great device, which offers a sound not quite so authoritative as the previous listed Sony three, but also does a great job!
