Quick question @MrWalkman
I think i have successfully installed the Midnight v2 version where my unit is showing Midnight v2 (ZX300) - Plus v2 mode... is plus v2 mode enabled by default?
And thank you very much for all the love you show for the zx300.. appreciate it a lot!

EDIT:
Do the values maked with a red arrow need to be changed and the device restarted for them to take effect?

Yes, the Plus v2 mode is enabled by default.

I think in a future release I'll default it to the Normal mode, and then people can choose themselves.

Yes, you need to change those values.

Thank you very much. Just tested it out while taking a short walk and wow the difference is definitely worth the wait.
Though the gain mode is set to normal by default it can be changed in the settings of the player and will remain so till the player is restarted (is that assumption correct?)

The gain in the player's settings will always remain to how you set it. It's different from the one in the settings file.

Loving my zx300 after a couple of years with it, but regretting buying the silver version and not that awesome looking all black variant. Where’s the best place to look if I wanted to get my hands on the black one these days?
Probably Wicke's or Homebase; they will have plenty of black paint in stock :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Seriously though, here on the Head-Fi classified ads, or perhaps eBay. Other options are Chinese websites such as Alibaba.
I got all my Sony DAPs here on the Head-Fi Classifieds and at good prices too :)

Walkman One, integrating 4 sound signatures in one package (without needing to use StockRevert), is now available :)

It includes previous sound signatures, like Midnight or Dawn (as "Warm" and "Bright"), as well as "Neutral" (a combination between Midnight/Dawn) and the "WM1Z" stock sound.

For each one of these sound signatures you can choose between the Normal mode, the Plus v1 mode, or the Plus v2 mode, and all this runs on the WM1A/Z firmware, which improves the overall sound quality.

Make sure to read info that is available in the downloaded firmware archive, as well as on the website, in the FAQ section.
