Hey guys, so I noticed that the ZX300 doesn't seem to support audio tracks with 5-6 channels? anyway to fix that or explain why? Seems like the PC and even my phone can play it fine.

It may be because the ZX300 is optimized to play back 2-channel music, hence, it doesn’t have a multi-channel chip like your phone or PC.

Anyways well that's unfortunate, as I got these DVD-A 5:1 Rips here that sound fantastic but it brings a tear to my eye knowing now I can't take these on the go, oh well, life gives you lemons.

You can still have the best of both worlds when out and about, your Sony for two channel and your phone for your dvd rips.

I bought a second hand zx300 for very cheap, less that half retail. When I check to see how much it has been used, it says 2 minutes. That can't be right.

Someone likely did a factory reset which also resets the timer to zero.

So if I want to sell it again, all I have to do is to do a factory reset and claim low hours?

what's the overal condition? does the exterior it look really worn out? have you tested the battery, playback on one full charge with flac on 3.5mm unbalanced constantly, see how long the battery life? close to 20 hours? 10 hours or less? if less than 5 hours?

I have no idea why Sony chose to do this, but regarding selling it, we’re all on the honor system. Anyway, each headphone output requires 200 hours of burn-in according to Sony, so time on a ZX300 can be a selling point.

It was on my A55 which I use alot

The somes case for zx100 does not fit zx300, too tight and if you force the zx300 within the case, it's very hard to get it out

I thought you were done perfecting the ZX300. Haven't followed the thread for last 30 pages.
I'm currently on your FE version from December. Can't wait to try the new stuff.

For the people who have just discovered the ZX300 and MrWalkman's amazing work:
I have tried all the iterations of his FW from the beginning till the build of December 2020.(5-6 versions) and the changes from build to build have been significant,obvious and truly amazing. A Must try for any User.

I have several 5.1 DVD-Audio discs as well and what I did was to re-rip the same DVD-Audio disc but select the 2.0 audio option. The result is still very much incredible. I'm using a DVD Audio Extractor.

Does the ZX300 support streaming via Bluetooth? How would I set that up? Apparently there is a “Bluetooth receiver” mode that allows my iphone to receive the streamed music, then send it to the Zx300.

But when I put the Zx300 into BT pairing mode, it does not show up on my iPhone BT device list.

Never mind. Solved it. I had to turn on the BT receiver in the ZX300.
