I forgot to add that from my research Samsung are a respected brand for SD cards.I've always had Sandisk (from Amazon) and have had great reliability - currently using the 400gb standard one

As I am pushing my price range to get the maximum capacity card for my money I usually use the lower spec (speed) cards, I wonder sometimes if the the library would build faster with a faster speed card, but as it doesn't affect my listening and I don't think anyone has mentioned on here about card speeds I wouldn't worry about it - someone may have experience to say otherwise though.
Recently the prices have dropped a lot for both the 400 and 500 cards.
I am using what is possibly the slowest 128GB SD card out there. Copy speed is around 10MB only; with it 95% full, rebuild takes less than a minute. A full rebuild however took over 10 minutes.
Might be worth investing in a decent speed. I had the quickest 512GB Sandisk card I could afford, it’s half full, and a rebuild takes under 10 seconds.
How fast does the database rebuild for you guys? When rebuilding after a transfer via USB it usually takes less than 10 seconds. However after a restart or after inserting the card into the device it usually takes a minute or two, which I'm not sure if it's long or not, considering my A45 rebuilds its database much faster. I have a little over 2000 songs in my library.
I put in a U3 (30 MBPS) card just to test - honestly, not that much different.
For transfer speed, limiting factor isn't the card, it's the DAP itself. The SD interface is slow...
Considering how rarely I transfer music, I'll happily get the savings. However, if you're considering using it for multiple devices, I recommend faster ones to take advantage of photography, etc.
Huh, mine's rather slow then. What card do you use?41 seconds after USB.
39 seconds after boot.
13727 songs, 119GB.
Will give a full rebuild a try in a day or two - some of my playlists messed up.
