I didn't have the one you asked. But I did order the similar one from Aliexpress and it a lot cheaper

China product though, in case you mind.

Cheers. Might stick with the Amazon one though as it will arrive a lot sooner. Don't fancy waiting a few weeks with a naked zx300

Ideally i'd go for a leather case though, however I don't really want to pay more than £40. I can see the Miter one is available on Amazon for that price, but I'm not keen on the extra bulk that the stand adds. Any recommendations?

Unsure if anyone posted about these yet but the new Acoustune cables are available on AJ:

http://www.accessoryjack.com/acoustune-arc13-pentaconn-4-4mm-mmcx-balanced-re-cables-black.html

I just received the ARC13 a few days back and it's great, I love the Pentaconn right-angle jack and the cable is the newer style that is softer / more flexible. Very high quality and durable feeling cable and I have a good, secure fit with minimal microphonics. The ARC23 (also ARC22/ARC21 for 2.5 TRRS / 3.5 TRS) is the new 2-pin variant. These come in a less compact but nice metal & foam lined case (it's essentially a smaller version of the box case the Acoustune IEMs come in) as opposed to the previous plastic packaging with the leather case. I'm not sure if there is any difference between ARC03 and ARC13 cables themselves as I have not used the former, it may just be different accessories based on what I've seen online. The price on the ARC03 went down though which is nice, these are probably the best deal for a high quality Pentaconn cable out there and the included cases are a nice touch.

Made myself some custom 4.4mm to rca cables tonight so I could go balanced out to my sx1010, pretty happy with the sonic change even going to some mediocre speakers.

I recently received my XBA-Z5 that I bought from another HeadFier. I had tried these (same balanced cable, same settings) earlier in the year in Japan when I first got my ZX300 and actually didn't like them - I found the bass too bloated and the treble lacking. Perhaps other factors could have been at play, but I am really enjoying the sound and can feel the step up from my XBA-A3, they sound totally different to what I had experienced when I demoed them before. I am thinking that because when I had tried them my ZX300 only had about 3 hours on them, so it could be proof of the recommended burn in for the ZX300? This is definitely not brain related.

Just got this case along with all these free goodies from china, ordered it from Taobao for about USD 11, it's a shame that I don't like the protector.

I wished the caps were black, probably because I choose a red case, all the caps were red.

Here are black ones, and no problem ordering. But they are a bit on the expensive side IMO
Thanks, I know about the benks one, I can get them for about USD 7, aliexpress is more expensive, but I don't need to buy any, I have these red ones, and previously I got some Sony OEM one's from Japan at less them USD 1 each.

It seems like the Sony OEM one's are better quality.

I finally landed on a new ZX300 silver thru Amazon CA! Price was very reasonable, a whole dollar less than the cheapest I could find anywhere else. Should have it next week. So in prep for the addition to the family I also ordered official Sony flip case, a cheap silicon case (in the event I don't like flip case), a "USB-to-WhateverTheHellSonyZX300ConnectorIs" adapter, and FiiO BL44 balanced adapter. Also have my first IEM on order with 4.4mm balanced cable (Acoustic Research AR-E10) to try with the 300.

Anything else I should consider?

Also, is there podcast support yet? Sideload APK apps? I have no idea what to expect, I just was curious about Sony since last audio product I used from them was MiniDisc.

Form factor/size, GUI, 4.4mm, and battery life intrigued me.

I'm going to start reading this thread from post #1 now. Wish me luck.

The Sony flip case is nice, but not very functional. If mine hadn't came with it in the deal I would have bought a different case. I didn't know the caSE was 100 bucks until the other day, which is just ridiculous, unless it was a pricing error on amazon. I would much rather have the mushashino or an open case similar. As stated, the Sony case is nice, but not very functional as far as using the player goes. For me at least, I like access to the screen instantly, not flipping open the case then pressing power to get screen on, kind of gets old especially when moving around and only having one hand available. But it does protect the screen since it's closed more often than open, I don't know, I'm going to buy a different case soon myself.
