Your silly Austin Powers img is as dumbfounded as you are. Thanks for saying nothing, being meaningless. I would define your character as chill, brown, warm, dumb. You're welcome.

Serial number is a random non repeating number between 1 and 8000. :scream:
I don't think that is correct. Early buyers had small numbers like 000124 and they grew pretty steadily from there.

And why would Sony preordain an 8000 unit limit? They should easily be able to exceed that if a much smaller brand like Campfire can sell 2000 units of a LE in 6 months.

So after some listening with the IER Z1r, I definitely prefer them to the campfire solaris. With the Solaris's, I found the bass excellent quality, but always felt it was slightly lacking, which drew me to the sony's. They provide what I was feeling I needed more of. It just may be endgame for me :)
Hi, thanks for your quick impressions. Any issues with fit? I have been considering taking the plunge on these (esp. after the price drop), but have read several folks have fit issues and so have been a bit concerned about that.
Thanks

I get alot better fit with the Sony over Solaris. However the cable on the Solaris over the ear wrap is better.

Soooo... I cancelled my pre-order. I really need to wait for more impressions because I'm extremely interested in the Solaris as well. I'm huge fan of the Vega so I really want to see what CA can do with that driver. I'm also very excited about the IER-Z1R and I've been waiting for the next big thing from Sony. However, I can only get one of them. Otherwise, I'll have to consider offloading other IEMs and I'm not so sure either the Solaris or the IER-Z1R will motivate me to do that. That said, I'll kick back with some popcorn for a while!
Just curious, what was your result with the Sony Vs Solaris? I own both and prefer the Sony

Exactly, all the Sony headphones start off with low numbers then gradually increase as they make more. There would be no reason for the IER-Z1R to have some random number serial number, Sony has never done that. On a side note 124 is my serial number, you must have remembered that? Lol

On another side note, we had 123 serial number posting here as well.
