Contact Sony support and you should he good. I’m sure they can direct you to a location to go sample them. My hometown is Los Angeles. So there HAS to be a place you can demo them

I'll try that. Thanks for your help! With businesses being shut down/limited hours due to "C" I didn't think that I would be able to find anywhere that would have them available to demo, but hopefully Sony can advise me on a place that has it.

More than enough. You’ll be real surprised how good they sound. I keep my volume around 45 out of the 120 in balanced mode and they sound awesome. Enjoy!
LOL i must be deaf. I listen to z1r on the 1A at atleast 70 in day time, 60 something at night time. Not on high gain.

I'm sure this has been asked several times, so pardon my laziness to search this thread, but is the ier-z1r adequately powered by the WM1A? I'm sure they don't sound as good compared to out of a headphone amp, but do they sound good enough?

Yes 1A and 1Z have enough power to make Z1R sound good. However, if you want to take Z1R’s sound to another level, you need a high powered source.

Agreed. Running them balanced out of Sony’s TAS amp made a much noticeable difference over my 1A

White is just before red, which is far from the highest setting.

"pinky white" sounds accurate.

i assumed that's what he had meant, and was just trying to clarify.

full volume would be the last thing you ever heard...
