Well, have two pairs, little worried to break them now as I know it will be hard to buy another one.
See my sig, I have the whole collection, with the ex600 being over 8-9 years old. And like new.

Same here. Own them for almost 10 years. I haven't read a lot about EX600 except on their launching days back in 10 years ago. For me EX600 holds really great value and still 1 of the best single DD iem even compared to modern iems. They have relax, balance, flat signature with great extension on sub bass, very details. More "shy" version little brother of EX1000 which have aggressiveness.
Any comments about your EX600? I have both, just like to hear opinion from EX600 owner also. Thanks

First of all the EX600 cost more than the EX1000 even though the EX1000 has been inflated, than if you can find them new, any lucky people if lucky may find it normal priced if they search deep.

For me I find it better than the EX1000, I'm not a person who likes bass, best if the file is made how they intended to be, just enough low and high.

The EX800 is totally different, its a studio iem, and hand tuned for vocals only, that what it does best, I have yet to find a 4.4 cable for the EX800 that sounds good, I find the supplied cable to sound the best ATM.

The EX600 and EX1000 has no problems in using the stock RX1000 cables converted with pentagon 4.4 plug.

BTW purchased the EX600 about a year after the released date, that's about 9years, had 1000yen taken of as the shop though I was asking for discount, then tax free. So I got it at a bargain price.

The EX1000 was purchased about 1 1/2 years ago, just before it got discontinued, I got it at a special price with tax free.
I also had the chance to get the EX1000 normal priced about 1/2 year ago, but does not come supplied with anything, just the ear piece along, still a bargain.

Not really, I can get them for USD 350, below the rrp price ATM, there are plenty available in china, I'm just not willing to chance sending money to china.
If I really one, I have to get my friend to get one, if you're thinking its fake, no, they are real.

Unfortunate if they are truly discontinued. Guess I will just enjoy mine until they die, maybe the ier-z1r will be affordable by then

Hi,

Was wondering if there are any guide(s) to re-terminate the original Sony EXK cable to a 4.4 mm Balanced plug (look through quite a bit of this forum, but for the love of my life, cannot seem to catch a break).

Better still, are there any places or shops in Singapore that does this modification?

Many thanks in advance!
hikki.

These days I don't use iems much but I am listening now to my music with a 7 yrs old ex1000. Still sounding excellent.
These iems are well made and last forever (minus the initial paint loss). Bought a backup pair many yrs ago and left it in the closet doing nothing.

Definitely me B-) , it was the first audiophile iem I bought when it was released but not knowing much about headfi:). I got a great deal on it and it comes with the sony to mmcx adapter . But I want the exk cable instead
The EX600 wasn't a popular choice, it was the EX1000 which got all the attention, that's why the EX600 was discontinued about 3-4 years before EX1000, but to me, I think the EX600 is a better choice.

Do you have a photo of you adapter.

I have the EX600, EX800 and EX1000, which the oldest one dated back about 9 year, all can be mistaken it for 100% new, no single scratch on any of them.
