I haven’t use RSV for a while, the new toy syndrome, but when I had a chance to play live recording, pulled out RSV, got goosebumps.

RSV is indeed one and the only “reality simulator” for me. It simply melts as soon as live recording kicks in, as if there is no media between myself and the world of recording, how immersive this IEM is.. it’s not those EST silky trebles nor 12BA ultra layering techniques, hard to pull out an appropriate phrase other than “reality”...

Diffusion field magic of RSV I’d call this immersion.

It's very much the same for me @AmericanSpirit. The IEM disappears and I get pure uncolored sound. I have to assume the thing is tuned very near my own head transfer function.
You comment reminded me a good aspect, yes “uncolored sound” is the key! Good reminder. If sound is colored we can’t perceive it as realistic thus it makes no big difference when playing the source with RSV to other IEMS. That “uncolored sound” x low gain on DAP is the igniter👍

Also your previous comment on “volume scalability” on RSV is another big technical speciality which I realized too. It’s a critical component of dynamic range illustration which contributes to how sound vectors around and how dynamic the momentum could sound attain.

That is exactly why I rate the RSV above everything else I have heard. Nothing else just audibly dissappears like the RSV for me. I can't ever get rid of it. It's my personal tuning!

If the HE500 could sound like an iem, the RSV would be the one. The RSV just had this way of effortlessly reproducing sounds with a lightning quick attack/decay, excellent note weight and an extremely convincing tonality

Oh man with Beethoven, just finished ‘Awakening of happy feelings on arrival in the country’ and the RSV handled everything perfectly. This iem just hit it out of the park in terms of portraying the emotions with proper detail, separation and layering, which isn’t easy to accomplish with complex pieces like this. The RSV gets it done with aplomb! Very impressed!

Listening with a Black Dragon cable from the balanced output of the ZX300 btw.

The special thing about the RSV isnt that it is super special in any one area. It really is that it does everything correct and even somethings better than anything else. It IS a reference set in every respect. All technical metrics and performance. I stand by this.

Unfortunately very little information on the turii, could anybody do a brief comparison with more known iems like u12t, dunu luna, sony m9, Andromeda etc? I'm really interested in the turii after reading the one and only )but excellent) review but more impressions would be helpful..... thanks

I have the Turii, but unfortunately don't have the U12t, Andromeda, or Luna to compare with. I had the M9 a good while ago, but it's probably been too long for me to really comment on the similarities / differences. From recollection though, I can at least tell you the M9 would be quite a bit darker / more laid back. The Turii is just crazy detailed, clear, and spacious, even compared to the RSV. It is really addicting to listen to!

There’s lots of impressions on the Turii throughout this thread, assuming you haven’t read all of the pages thus far
