Will do.
And to get back on topic, new week means new headphones. Today I am choosing the HD660S2. His favourite partner is now gone (Valhalla 2) and he will go with his second favourite, the iFi Pro iCAN. In tube mode with a touch of bass boost.

I am buying a well used base Lehmann Linear amp today. Thanks for the input!
They're good amps but just a heads up.....as they have been copied.

Starting today by playing my top of 2010's playlist. My favourite 488 songs from 2010 to 2019.
Last night and today I am really enjoying them with my Violectric V220.

It's weird. I can only enjoy these with a 650 capsule. Stock capsule is too smooth sounding. It's a bit dull to my ears..

It's good in cases like these that I have many 6 series parts strewn about

What is a capsule? You mean a driver swap into another headband/earcups?

This brother took out the 660S2 drivers and put them in a 650 frame and then proceeded to re assemble the 660S2 after the demo period. I don't think he has the 660S2 anymore.

What is a "capsule" my man?

The capsule houses the drivers. I have a few around as well as extra 600 and 650 drivers.

This is classic Sennheiser 6 series ignorance on display. The whole system is designed to be easily broken down and put back together and one can do so whilst causing absolutely no wear and tear. The headphones I returned then were in perfect like new condition. A 5 yr old could disassemble these HPs. You should stop talking ridiculous nonsense. 😄

* 5/24/24 - Since Jude and the mods seems to think this post should be highlighted, I will point out that if you read on in the thread you'll see that Sennheiser confirmed everything I said above. That precisely no wear and tear occurs from taking the HPs apart properly due to the modular design of the 6 series, as well as the fact that any return of these headphones should be deemed b stock by sellers, which assumes some use occured while the headphones were in the hands of the original owners. All of these facts are exactly the opposite of what I will be accused of below (and above), if you read on.

I can't imagine a single person here would be happy or content buying a 660S2 from Amazon knowing that its drivers were removed, put into a 650 housing, then put back into the 660S2 and sent back to be resold (very likely, knowing Amazon, as new). And I think you yourself would pass on such a unit if you had the background knowledge before hitting "Purchase New".

This was one of those examples that solidified my resolve to never buy audio gear from Amazon.

Are you saying that you bought a new 660S2 and moved the drivers again, or did you send back that 660S2 with the 650 drivers after all?

Thats exactly why i buy directly from sennheiser. Btw basically no difference in pricing. All or most sales are initiated by sennheiser.
