I stream FLAC or even internet radio mp3@128 into a TEAC NP-H750, this paired to my CEC HD53N amplifier and listen to the 1840, this is how it looks like:

How do you find HD53N?

Seem like a good candidate for popular open mid-fi headphone (DT880,K701,HD650).
I honestly like my SRH1540 headphones better than Meze Empyrean. In fact, almost all my favorite headphones are midfi. Economies of scale here. I have tried a number of $4,000 options. Additional gains seem not remotely correlated to price.

Well, I am joining the SRH1840 club. They should be here soon. I will be driving them balanced with Sony NW-WM1Z and Lotoo Paw Gold Touch. Now I own SRH1840 and SRH1540. I miss the AKG K812s, but couldn't swing getting them again and got a deal on the 1840s.

So far, the SRH1840 is better on the Sony NW-WM1Z than LPGT. Too thin on LPGT. How long is burn in for SRH1840?

I have SRH1840, and I EQd -2.5db at 8 kHz. Seems nice. Bumped 60 Hz and 150 Hz up 2db. I love the warmth of the 1540, but the 1840 is really growing on me fast with its neutral musical signature.

Listening time. LPGT as a source is growing on me.
