Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

The SE846 black square case is one of most stylish non-drybox case around.

In regards to dry-box I think customised otter box 1000 is most practical. *just* about perfect room inside.

Still have the Heir Audio branded Otterbox 1000. Gave buyer of my 4.ai+ my Peli 1010 with foam. Peli more bulky. Then I guess you are using a man or gym bag regardless of either one.

The SE846 branded clear dry box (in western market packaging) is nice, but like Westone deluxe case is bigger then necessary?

Westone monitor vault is better sizng also but some Amazon reviews question cracking?

I had a monitor vault for my RE-272s and it was a tight fit plus the latch cracked after a couple of years of very light use

An update regarding the looseness of the nozzle (left-earpiece): it has exasperated, badly.  Should I be concerned about this?  It is nearly 2100 Melbourne time hence, rather annoyingly, I cannot get them seen to (again) by Jaben Audio (and not before another tram ride into town sans music!).

Obviously they are not withstanding the pressures of daily pocket-based transportation.  I would like to investigate a good case for them that is pocket sized.  I am about to quit the cigarettes hence that will vacate some vital real estate, but what would be a great, pocketable protective case for them?

I have one of these when I go out with my nicer headphones - it isn't as huge as a Pelican case and is waterproof and shockproof - you could probably drive a truck over them - AND they sell them at Jaben.

(I bought a JH16fp from a member here and he sent one to me - I had never seen it before - they are similar to the can that comes standard with some JH Audio and Unique Melody customs - it is gorgeous and works great)

I also got a Pelican 1010 even before my 846 arrives tomorrow... I think they're excellent for inside a bag but way too big to carry out in a pocket. I now only use it to store my tips.
I bought 3 different sorts of waterproof boxes from ebay and bunning hardware (much cheaper than pelican) in sydney to carry 2-3 iems with me ... but in the end the hard boxes are just too bulky. I now use a $3 EVA material sunglasses case which I think is perfect as they have a deeper cavity so things don't fall out when I'm on a plane.

Those hippocan's look sexyyyy

Yes, I was going to buy one but then saw the price - $58 + shipping for a can ... a very nice solid aluminum can, but still a can. Also, based on the photo, I don't think the 846 with memory wire will fit very well. But they're still cool

Did a quick search online and found these. Only problem min order is 24. Still a lot cheaper then hippocans. I think the 2oz is perfect for the 846s.
