The VRDS 701 player is certainly as well built as the 701-T. TEAC uses its own proprietary delta-sigma chip in the DAC portion of 701. If I were in the market for a CD player, this could be the one - after an audition.

So, for me, since I don't need the DAC portion the 701-T (Transport only) is more appealing (less expensive too). Was just wondering what you thought of the CD side only.
This circa 1980~ Pioneer SA-710 is one of the few things I own that can actually drive these Fostex T50RP headphones... these things are a right pain to drive...
