Eclipse TD-M1 - and when I need the bass to hit like car audio, Sony XB500 -> Stoner Acoustics UD125.
My main 2 channel stereo cannot be setup often, so I snagged the TD-M1s and they are just great, so convenient to just enjoy at my desk.
How did you make the detachable cable mod on your AHD2000?I will definitely add two more ZMFs this year.

I think the monitor was made around 2000-2001. To the right of the Super Nintendo on my desk I also have a small CRT TV built 1998 I believe. I used to have all this stuff just setup on the floor around my FW900 since I didn't have a desk that could support the weight. Since that monitor has been starting to fail, I picked up these small CRTs and finally have a desktop setup.

Was thinking the same thing. I remember rocking 19" & 20" SONY CRTs back in the day. Those boxes were colossal, but so what? There were no alternatives then and I had no idea how good flatscreens would become.
I still favor 3:4 aspect ratio flatscreens. Currently have a 19" & 20" NEC Accusync on linked desktops.
(surrounded by headphones & amps, naturally)
I don't have room for a CRT but I do use a 4:3 LCD on a pivot arm which I use for messing with old computers (my other hobby).

Haha I have two 20" Trinitron TVs in storage.
I love NEC monitors. I used an NEC CRT for many years and have a NEC 4:3 LCD in the garage I'm thinking of swapping in on my desk since that Hyundai CRT buzzes and distracts from music listening. I just prefer to play games on a CRT...so I'm deciding what I can deal with lol.
I think it's more an issue of physics. Since most TV manufactures are trying to make the TV as thin as possible, there isn't the room for bigger speakers nor the space to allow better low frequencies. All the can do is more speakers, use woofers designed to be sealed or unported. This still will only have limited effectiveness. It would sound better compared to other flat screens. Would not do well against most sound bar systems, and none of the home theater systems. I do think many manufactures do design a lot of the TV sound from the being wall mounted and speakers reflecting off the wall and using that space to try to give better low end. It still doesn't compare to the sound from the old CRT TVs.
In their defense, the general public does not care all that much about really good sound. As long as it sounds "good enough", they're happy. There is a reason why Beats by Dre do very well and other a lot of other similar headphones.

Yup, unfortunately started acting up last year. I have not sought repair and I'm not sure yet if I want to deal with it, but I struggle to let it go. I also have a Pioneer KRP-500M sitting in a box in the closet from a past home theater that I can't let go of as much as my wife would like the space back.
All said, I'd much rather have 2 super nice working CRT monitors like you.
