A non electronic choice from me today, as the summer has finally arrived here in Dublin, some excellent reggae from Hollie Cook - very uplifting and I love her voice. Fantastic album.

Yes I've defaulted a lot to electronic on the IE900 but I listen to many more genres, I'll start branching out to others.

A long day at the desk inspired a relaxed album to bring me back to earth, or to outer space. Love the movie and the soundtrack.

Interstellar - it won't load as a preview in the post for some reason...

Received my ie900.

Bass presentation is unique and may be a deciding factor for people. I can't find a way go word it. It isn't slow like the ier-z1r, but neither is it tight dry and punchy. Not tight but has good control, and it can present all tom drums with good timbre.....But it is still unique, I can't say it is definitely a better/good thing. Like for bass, male vocals seem to resonate in guttural fashion that can overwhelm you physically.

The imaging is not as widely 3d seperated; there is no void that images jump out of (which was the gimmick of the ie800). The ie900 is more center presenting and relatively congested in a more natural sense.

String instruments have a twang when plucked, but lack a romantic edge to it.

Vocals don't seem affected from the FR dip. More just a consequence to the imaging and the edge to some instruments.

Soundstage is more wide, but less so in depth. In the ie900 some high noises may come out from a distance and awe you. Unlike the ie800 where everything came out of the distant void and not only the extreme highs.

This iem has no specialized gimmick. It just a good non-fatiguing all-rounder as some have said.

The memory wire is huge, which may be a problem for some. But it conforms well......the cable has a chemical rubber smell that needs to gas out.

The silicone tips do not isolate well. But using the smallest silicone tip for a deeper fit did best for me.

Being going between Xelastex and Medium stock which get best bass when i don't shove them in too deep, then bass travels best just like a speaker, i find deepest fit(pressing too close to eardrums) limits the bass quality and extension as well as soundstage. The problem for me is they move a bit occasionally and you loose the magic position, therefore i go to Xelastecs which stay perfectly in obviously, sound is almost as magical

Anyone with IE900 + Effect Audio ConX cables? Are they compatible?

They are not just compatible, really seem to be designed for each other.

Coupling of the connectors is perfect.

They look nice and also sound really good paired with the IE 900s, and for that I have to thank you and the Headfonia.com reviewer, because it just didn't occur to me that the ConX could fit the IE 900s recessed connector.

Not a problem buddy!

I’m sure it sounds amazing on it!

Now I gotta get my cleopatras reterminated to ConX

I will only get me aftermarket cables if I need a different connector, which is not included. The IE900 comes with all connectors which I need.
