The K400 is definitely the least-worn of the bunch. Oddly enough considering the age of the rest, but the 701 seems the most flimsy & most likely to break soon.

The k400 is pretty damn comfortable, though.

I'd say those two are the most likely candidates for sale. Then again, I may just keep the AKGs and sell everything else. I tend to really like one pair for a few weeks, and then switch when I want something different.

does anybody else find the 701's head strap to be not so comfortable? the ear pads are phenomenal but ugh to the top of my head after more than an hour or two of wearing them.

Position the headband towards the back of your head, then tip it up facing the front of your head. I found this position to be best.

Imo the comfort of both the pads and headband leaves alot to be desired. But yeah, angling it towards the back of the head does help.

Oh, yes, many of us have experienced that top-of-the-head discomfort from the K701 head strap. That burning feeling, like having a low-level, background "noogie." FWIW, the K701 also gave me the worst "headphone hair" than any other cans I've tried, too! : )

I have tied the headband to the two wires with a velcro loop. Makes it more comfortable as it raises the band up and there is not so much pressure on the head.
