I think in terms of instrument separation. It's the advantage of having 5 drivers, 5 ways vs 3 drivers, 3 ways. You will get more information with 5 drivers when it is done correctly.

Jazzyfi, in what sense SE 5way is more superior to pro330 in terms of micro details. Does the micro details are pushed forward in SE 5way and are somehow hidden in pro330 or is it something else?

You guys gotta listen to some Victor Wooten with SE5way. Absolutely breathtaking reproduction of the recordings. Especially with better sources like yours, the effect should be even multiple times better than what I am living right now

Very good IMO. Much better than the AK120 (even with the Pico Power), DX50, X3, HM-901 (Classic Card), and only slight short of the HM-901 (Balanced Card). Not really interested in the DX100, but I'm sure that is a nice pairing and synergy.

Yes, Greed! It pairs with SE5 really well~ very neutral sounding~ But sadly SE5 seems to be the only CIEM that pairs with ZX1 well lol.

Ha, yea the other IEMs I have lying around aren't a good pairing I do agree. I did try a pair of SM64 that was a good pairing. I think it is accurate to say the thicker sounding IEMs will probably pair pretty well. Some better than others. Maybe the FitEar lineup? Not sure...

Unfortunately I'm looking at the JH Rox for my next CIEM but I don't think that pairing will be very good. Might have to skip it because I'm really digging the fluid and functional UI of the Sony.

I have to ZX1 pairs with SE5 so well that it even trumps over my dx100 and Rocoo BA.
The treble control and presentation is really one of the best I have ever heard. So glad I bought the ZX1, even only for SE5.

I agree. Only thing is that for power, I still like the 901 too.

Yep. I would say ZX1 has decent power to make SE5 sounds good as a portable CIEM (clear, clean, detailed, musical, smooth).  SE5 can definitely improve with more healthy power, you will feel it when you feel the energy presence in the bass/treble even when you can't actually hear it, SE5 will perform more effortlessly.

901 + balanced card is definitely more powerful than ZX1. However sound-signature wise, ZX1+SE5 sounds more neutral than SE5+901.
