dang, i'll give you $60 for them :)  i really really like my 6000's

I do love a good bargain! What I forgot to mention was that the person gave away a 5th gen iPod nano 16bg with it. An I was just speechless at my luck! I think it does help to trawl around gumtree.com.au at midnight for these sort of amzing finds!

That is a crazy deal, indeed!

i paid $200 for my UE9000 during dick smith 50% sale. Was happy to pay that price for them, but $50 AND an ipod mini (which is something i actually want!) would make me much happier!!!

Let's just say the gentleman (father) of a certain teenager did not like the results from the parent teacher night a couple of weeks ago hence the ahem "Sale"

Bwahahahahahahahaha,:D :p

I will be trading my UE4000 + $120 for the UE9000 (I think this is an awesome deal ! )

Any advice for checking if the UE9000 is fully working? Andthing I should be aware of?

Thanks!

Shoot for lower price.. like $100 and UE4k O_O

Check if the earcups are volume matched. I ran into 1UE6k and 1 UE9k where the left cup was either louder or quieter. (usually quieter)

Check the sound wired and wireless.
Check bluetooth connectivity with whatever devices you plan to attach it to. I haven't had any issues with Windows 7 laptop or iphone or android based phones.

Can't think of much else other than that for the time being.

Solid deal imo!

i've noticed that on my UE6000 one ear is louder than the other or some sounds are more pronounced on one side rather than both.  but i think it's a matter of track quality and how the track was mastered.  i notice these only on some of my old rock music.  but i think they were meant to be recorded that way.

$120 too much??

I'll check your tips, thanks!

And I had the earcup issue on the UE6000, I never heard of the issue on the UE9000

P.S. I ended up not haggling the guy, I felt $120 was fair for both parties!

I had that problem with my old UE6000, I had to get rid of it because the channel imbalance was too annoying.

I heard none of these problems on the UE9000, that's why I'm buying that instead!

Wow I haven't had the UE6000 for so long, I forgot how loud the hiss was with these headphones (UE9000).

Even when listening to music I can hear it very loud!

Update: I ended up trading with the seller back for a UE6000. The UE9000 I tested had all the problems of right side louder, hiss super loud on one side. The UE6000 I got was PERFECT... No volume imbalance... (This is my 4th pair of UE6000, finally a pair that is not defective... I am so happy right now lol)

Lol awesome!

I contribute the imbalances to stupid ANC and right sided cables. Both huge pet peeves of mine :)

ANC hiss is annoying.. but it can become a nonfactor when you throw the bass at it.

Got my pair of UE9000s on Black Friday for $150. I love them. They sound great with or without wires, and the bluetooth works flawlessly. I use them at work all of the time (I'm a woodworker). The noise canceling works well, and they provide great isolation. If they ever go on sale like that again, I'll buy two more pairs for backups.

keep your receipt for warrenty purposes .. I have 4 sets of UE9000 all from the returns/exchanges and all initially worked but suffered from sound balances over time ... I'm wondering what to do when the warrenty runs out.
