Just because not everyone likes them doesn't mean they're different. I don't like the HM5 either. Which isn't to say I know they are not different. They could be for all I know. Seems odd that they would be though since they are supposedly OEM.

Received mine from Jaycar. The clamping force is significantly greater than on my FA-003 and the pleather pads don't seem to be as soft and pliable as the FA-003 leather ones. Could just be lack of break in. The sound is very similar but I reserve judgment until the Jaycars have had some burn-in. Visually they are identical except for the writing as is the travel case. No matter what they seem very good value at $50

I'm curious, what kind of music do you listen to? What is it in paticular that you don't like about the Digitechs. I find it fascnating how we sometimes hear things so differently.

Just got my clones today.  The look great, but SUPER strong clamping and I have a small head.
 
So I have them burning in whilst being stretched out on a beach ball.  Hopefully that will help.

It will. I stretched mine over a bowling ball (that is in my listening room expressly for that purpose) for two nights and it fixed it.

The cable is canare, I don't remember the exact model, It's the one used widely for hp recabling around here. But it's too 'big' IMO. Microphonic.

Yeah, 12 hours over my beach ball worked GREAT.  They fit great now.  I have not listened to them yet though, still burning in.

Also, the "Limited" Icon is not on the Jaycar Clone page anymore.  But the Icon for it being on "Special" still is.
 
Guess this means with all of our orders they decided to keep it in stock.  I wonder how long it will stay on "sale" for.

mind to share the sound change between the stock cable and those canare cable?
