Now that I/we have ordered, any chance of getting the same deal but with FA-011 clones?

I am thinking they are pleather. If it was Leather that would be stealing lol.

As far as I know only leather will sweat when exposed to a naked flame. Any synthetic material will just melt and burn a hole

That is a very destructive test.  I think a smell test would be sufficient.  I know the FA-003 has/had genuine leather pads.  Just about the time the HM5 came out, getting true leather pads for the FA-003 (to be used for T50rp http://www.gd-audiobase.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=41&Itemid=2&TreeId=19) became impossible.

Since Fischer, Brainwavz, and now Digitech all get their nearly identical headphones from the same source, I think it is safe to guess that all the pads are now pleather correct?  From the T50rp thread, the pleather pads for the HM5 are pretty inconsistent quality, or just have two different versions.  Here's to hoping for real leather.

yeah i was talking about the hm5 / oem ones not the fa003. I am sure yours are leather.

I'm pretty sure the Fischers are OEM as well. I remember them mentioning it back somewhere in this thread. Sounds like there's multiple versions of these pads floating around all over the place though from what people are saying in the last few posts. Not surprising but unfortunate.

I just ordered some replacement pads for 17$. If I get real leather at that price I will be extremely happy.(thats pads for the HM5 from mp4 nation)

I've had the 003 for quite some time (over a year and a half) & the pads feel very much like real leather.. and they're damn comfy.  Once my HM5 replacement pads arrive.. I'll report back if they are, indeed, the same as the 003 leather pads or if the HM5 pads are different.

The HM5 replacement pads from mp4nation or direct from Brainwavz have been confirmed to be pleather in the T50rp thread.  I should have been more clear: I am hoping the JayCar FA-003 headphones come with genuine leather.  If you compare pictures from Fischer, Jaycar,and http://www.head-fi.org/t/491632/review-fischer-audio-fa-003-a-neutral-champ/2355#post_8386710, the picture from IronSnake's post makes them look like pleather.  Like I said, just a hope.

Thanks for the cross post.. having owned the 003.. the JayCar 003's pad texture looks identical to the 003's pad texture.

Yeah, I have not received mine yet, and wonder if I can take off the Digitech Logo when I get them.

..

I don't think so, it appears to be embedded into them.

Oh boo, I was thinking about removing the "I bought the cheapo version of the FA-003" label and replacing it with my own design.
