Definitely will Eke. The iem I use most in my collection is the IE80. However, the ASG2 gets the remainder of the use. The asg2 does sound better in many areas, however I am too accustomed to the IE80 sound to just give it up. I am hoping with the new cable, I can have the asg2 as my main iem.

I second this. I had the opportunity to add the K3003 to this comparison thread, but declined due to its extremely poor performance.

No he is not joking, the K3003 are a torture to the ears. Apparently only sparrows can enjoy them because the squeaky sounds coming out of them are reminiscent of their mating cry. Well that is what I heard at least.

Mim, i think James444 would disagree with you... i also found his K3003 good sounding, cannot see where the problem comes? personal tastes are a different matter of course but to bash K3003 so easily one must be really have good arguments listen wise
confused_face(1).gif

NB: my listen experience with K3003 was short so i cannot argue here but i think James can.

I can confirm this. I was told the same thing too. I wonder if we spoke to the same person.

Mimouille (and eke),

Mating, for your information, is a sacred activity for a handful of species. It is a sacred activity for sparrows in general, and in particular for those of the Elderly and Grumpy kind — that is why the AKG K3003 is sacred to me even if it's considered absolute rubbish sonically to human ears. (There are several jokes among sparrows (of all kinds) about the serious limitations of human hearing)

Ok, obviously some folks here need to chill a bit...

@Gintaras: thx for your brave support, but there's no point holding on to the charade... cat's already out of the bag, no need diggin' ourselves an even deeper hole mate.

@Mimouille & music_4321: sacred sparrow's mating cries? Really wanna romanticize a $1300 dud? Sounds like clutching at any straw, tbh.

@Eke: try Ecuador. They might have a weakness for your forename.

Just to make things clear for those who thought I was serious, I was not. I actually like the 3003. To close to my 1plu2 to justify a purchase though.

Monkeys and humans...well, er... to sparrows—and other highly-developed species—they're pretty much the same thing.

Hey eke, just a quick suggestion — I think you should specify the Flat4s you reviewed were the SUIs (not the KAEDEs or KUROs).

According to Romy and Soundfreaq yeah, they are very similar (Kaede v. SUI). I think the difference is likely comparable to Ex600 v. Ex1000. Hard to tell when I've never heard Kaede, but I trust the aforementioned individuals.

It shows you're not a Headphoneus Supremus (don't think you'll ever be one, TBH). When will you / people learn that the higher the model number / more letters in the name (SUI = 3; KURO = 4; KAEDE = 5), the better the product is? If there's a significant price difference between the SUI and the KAEDE, it is for a reason.

As for Romy and SoundFreaq, please don't get me started on those two, particularly the former.

...and posted just a few minutes ago (in a different thread):

Welp. I guess I'm the latest dude to join the Kuro club. I'm not proud to admit that btw. It shows lack of restraint on my part :l

Humans, monkeys....... oh well.

I do seem to recall you telling me that the Heaven S provided anywhere from 90-95% of the performance of FI-BA-SS, and yet... We see that the songbird chooses to toss the Heaven S to the dogs. For better or worse, it seems that our respective species are immune to logic, and perhaps, may not be all that different after all :P

Wow, it really does follow that trend "SUI = 3; KURO = 4; KAEDE = 5"

Genius. Never thought of it that way

Hanging around these boards, unfortunately, does seem to have a negative affect on certain fragile ageing sparrows (read: learning about the all too common contradictory ways of humans [and/or monkeys]). But hey, the $1,100 FI-BA-SS is shiny, made of stainless steel and looks veeeery classy — that certainly has a very positive effect on chicks… of the sparrow kind (young and old).
