The 1.5 is like all midrange and no bass if I remember correctly... sorry.
oh no......

The Asg 1.5 is all bass and midrange with almost no treble - its the Eva that was all mids, no bass. Not heard the ASG2 but have the 2.5 and the 1.5s were comparable in bass slam, quantity and ferocity. The treble quality is actually very good if you can hear it, but I had to resort to +12db treble on the "simple" Rockbox EQ to make it clear enough to be enjoyable, and even then it was still dark.
Popped a review up previously of the 1.5s in the Head Gear section if you want to see the rest of my ramblings, but don't think any average basshead will be disappointed with the low end unless they only like stuff that vibrates the fillings out of their head or raises the alert level at NORAD every time they fire it up...![]()
I was really hoping not to get back into the IEM game.. I sold my ASG2 and settled with Shure SE215.. I do like the noise isolation, but it's just not as good as the ASG2.
How does 2.5 compare to the 1.5? Are they far from each other in terms of sound, and bass?
I am also not fully settled on 1.5 yet.
The prices for the Aurisonics would be
1.5 = 265$
Forte = 429$
Harmony = 487$
2.5 = 999$
So.. I kinda want to make sure I pick the right one as I don't have time to be buying again cause I'll be traveling a lot.
I had the fortes but upgraded to the 2.5's.
Now I cant imagine life without them. Bought a custom silver litz cable for them and it definitely brightened the mids and treble while still retaining huge impact.
Depending on your budget I would go for the 2.5 so you know you have the kings of bass. Many will vouch for the ex800 as being better overall then the 2.5 but they have a bad stock cable and the way they hook on your ears is uncomfortable (tip rolling).
Probably not worth twice the price, usually most things aren't. It does seem better though. As far as the gold, I think it's overkill to pay that much for them, I wouldn't. Unless you love gold and they are your absolute favorite IEMS. Otherwise, waste of $.
Gold is 940$, Red is 999$..
Oh forgot to mention its in AUD
I have a pair of the frosted red, and the black. The red do look better, you can see the BA's and DD inside, looks cool.
You should look at used pairs of 2.5s if your not trying to spend $1000.
I would recommend an amp as well. I have the Headstage Arrow 5TX Enhanced Bass boost. Amazing amp, extremely portable, lots of settings, long battery. I stack it with my PD for truly portable bass impact. Only issue is it can take months to get it.
I would pair the 2.5 with the Cowon Plenue D as well for portable bass on the go. I think their running around $200 now.
Yeah, I really like the frosted red one.
I can't really find anyone selling one though, there was one yesterday, and it got sold already.
I would think about the amp later, as I would most probably be using my phone to listen to songs when I am traveling.
Can you pass me the link for a silver litz cable?
Thanks everyone!
Those prices are out of this world. Two days ago here on HF a guy was selling a 5 month old 2.5 with receit for $ 375. Usually a 2.5 (Red or Black). will go for $400 to $525. The Forte and Harmony can cost $425 orless. From my experience the Forte is perfect for long term listening.I was really hoping not to get back into the IEM game.. I sold my ASG2 and settled with Shure SE215.. I do like the noise isolation, but it's just not as good as the ASG2.
