Agree with Jmills. If you like the 2.5s you like bass from a live show.

"Two ZV28s offer response extended to 21 Hz (+-3 dB, 1m, ground plane). ZV28s were independently measured at Ultra Music Fest 2013 to achieve flat frequency response to 21Hz (-3 dB) at audience distance. A sub system of only sixteen ZV28 Subs and eight Z5/D Bass Horns s was used to create a legendary gig of extreme levels for close to 10,000 screaming fans. SPL meters showed levels of over 135 dB in the middle of the audience area."
I was there that year. This was the loudest system I have ever heard. Your insides shook, I could barely talk, the air was moving so much I couldnt light a bic lighter.
The 2.5s are the closest IEM's to that level of bass.
Then you should have tested the ASG2.0, better bass for me than the 2.5, although you could not play with bassports.
Opening ports with 2.5 can certainly move a lot of air, but in a way that is bleeding into the lower mids when going above 1/4. Too much rumble, and decay becoming too slow.
And I wouldn't compare IEMs to a live audio system. Of course bigger speakers moving more air are needed when you want people to hear properly 100 meters away from the scene. For IEMs, distance is not the issue so size matters much less.
Don't misunderstand, I like my ASG2.5 but SQ isn't an absolute thing and I'm enjoying my Angies and HA-FX850 more the ASG right now.
