I think if your PC has optical or Coaxial Digital out then it worth to buy external DAC to play higher resolution files. If not then USB digital out won't make much difference than Asus Essence ST/STX (internal PC sound cards) line level RCA out to connect with external AMPs.

I disagree, using external DAC via USB will eliminate noisy internal PC component.  I have a Claro Halo XT and I can hear the difference using USB on Burson and PWD.

I agree USB signals are cleaner than PC analog output signals but ST/STX has an EMI shield on all outputs and signals are more cleaner (same as USB). It also has COAXIAL digital output and RCA balanced line out for both external AMPs and DAC use.

in your opinion, what do you think has the best synergy for the LCD? im saving up for the burson rite now so if theres something better, I want it

I wouldn't consider those pinnacle amps to compare the Burson to. But yes, I would expect the Burson to sound better than them with the LCD-2s.

Balanced beta22, Leben, WA2, and WA22.   They are all much more than the Burson, for the price HA160/D ($700 and $1250), it is a very good value.  I have not heard any amp for less is better than Burson, there are a lot amp that I have not tried.  I can only comment the one I have heard.

Agreed...I'd also throw in a three channel B22 and Schiit Lyr with the amps you mentioned. The Burson was good with the LCD-2s, but there are certainly other (and better IMO) options out there. For the $, I'd seriously look at the Lyr, with orthos and the right tubes it certainly plays higher than it's MSRP.

For some reason, I don't like the Lyr with LCD-2 (with the right tubes) during a meet. I can't explain it but I love it with HE6. I will certainly get one if I ever get a HE6.

Which tubes? What was the front end? The Lyr is a phenomenal amp with orthos and both benefit with 4 Watts into 50 ohms IMO. The Lyr really offers great dynamics and is only slightly bested by the WA22.

I think it is Siemens E88CC, it sounded fantastic on the HE6 I tried but when I plug my LCD-2 in, it is missing something. I did try the LCD-2 befor HE-6. Maybe I should revisit it, get one in my home to give it more critical listening sessions.

The source from the meet is MBP>gamma2>Lyr>LCD-2

I'd suggest you give it a try again. I really like the Genalex Gold Lions and NOS Sylvania 6BZ7 tubes with the Lyr. You might be surprised. The Lyr kicks like a mule with regards to dynamics and as I mentioned, only slightly behind the 4x more expensive WA22 (with upgraded tubes).

I do agree fully that the Lyr and HE-6s are a great match.

WA22, $1900 with stock tube :)

With the right tube in Lyr it's huge improvement compare to stock GE 6bz7. But comparing durian with apple doesn't make sense, does it :)
