the gs1ke is better than the "i" i'd love to hear the ps1000e sometime

Same here, man...I need to spend time with the PS1ke and the new RS1e to see if either can knock the 500s off the top of my Grado hierarchy.

Yeah, I could tell you were happier with the GS than I was...I loved how they looked. The 500s just do it for me...I'd like to give the 'e' version a go to see if they are even better.

NICE PICS! +1 I still like the powder coat finish, less to no finger prints show on that :D

Wow, looks like the type of wood is totally different

It does! Just like the RS1e and the GS1000e, I wonder what the wood on the PS500e is like? Anyone got pictures for comparison?

Yes, Grado is now using a different mahogany

Apparently they are also treating the mahogany differently, hopefully with a little more respect :p

NB: Crappy joke, I know hehe.

Does anyone know of a nice stand for the ps1000s I want something that will even protect from dust.

I hate keeping them in the box after every use.

You'll either have something like a sleeve for them: http://www.madooma.com/shopHP/neu_headphone-stands/STAX_CPC-1_Schutzhaube_fuer_Kopfhoerer-Staender_CPC1_e.html

Or the Grado travel case : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Grado-Carry-GS1000i-PS1000-Headphones/dp/B00FA31UHE

I'd prefer to use a duster every once in a while :)

Who can tell me what difference between ps1000 and ps1000e? I really want to know and want to buy a ps1000e..

Here are my thoughts from back in June when I had both on hand:

Because the ear cups are so heavy, I prefer to lay my PS1000 flat, to keep maximum friction in the cheap plastic rod blocks, so that they stay put, when they're on my smallish head.

And, long story short, the new PS1000e have more bass extension, they play louder at the same volume setting, and they have a more intimate midrange. And last but certainly not least, my smallish ears were pressing against the drivers, so they weren't comfortable at all.

The old PS1000 have a slightly airyer presentation, and a little more treble extension, a more recessed midrange, therefore they have a  bigger soundstage, and aside for their weight, they are comfortable.

Personally, I ended up prefering the old PS1000, but I can totally understand why someone might prefer the new e serie.

Hope this helps.
