My Tidal is working

Are you getting MQA with Tidal? My PD-S10B (Onkyo) is no longer streaming MQA or flac, only AAC. There was a new update that I installed today (1.33) but that didn't fix it.

I quickly went through the menus, nothing new caught my eye.

To be honest I didn't expect any new fw for such an "old" DAP. Maybe they updated some underlying libraries (why should they do that for a player that haven't been commercially available for years?) or more likely they patched some vulnerability - but what vulnerability could such a player have?

The update went very quickly, that also seems to point in the direction of patching something.

How do I tell? Just signed up for tidal.
It displays on the screen when playing. See older photo below. It was working a couple of months ago, which was the last time I used the device:

Well, shucks. I can't connect to wifi to check for you and can't seem to get the search thread for wifi to work either :)

No problem. I have had a few issues connecting to wifi as well. I just keep trying and it eventually works. Sometimes I have to turn wifi off and on a few times.

Is bad wifi common on these or did the latest FW kill it for me?

bob

There are several reports in the thread about problems with weak wifi. Mine seems to have trouble connecting but seems OK once I finally get it to connect. I do sometimes move closer to the router when first connecting, which seems to help.
